The Bistro is beautifully decorated and the grounds at Gervasi are well maintained. We had an early dinner. Everything we ordered was ok the best thing were the drinks – Pinot noir and winter special martini. I wasn’t impressed with the food or how long it took to receive our food when the place was not busy and it’s well staffed. The bread is good. However the pierogies, lobster pasta, and seared sea bass were all lacking flavor and salt. The short rib gnocchi was served lukewarm, while tender it also lacked flavor. The tuna ahi and tomahawk pork chops were better but not phenomenal. Lastly, the crème brûlée lacked flavor and the hazelnut brownie was stale and old. I recommend going for drinks and the atmosphere but skip the food. Service took 2 hrs from the time we sat down to the time we left even with putting in our entrees when we ordered appetizers.

The ambiance alone makes a bold first impression. Vaulted ceilings, rich woodwork, and deep red walls set the tone the moment you walk in. The bar, framed by an exposed brick backdrop, adds a rustic, homey charm—almost like a warm hug before the meal even begins. To top it off, there was live jazz. The musician was fantastic, even stopping by my table to greet me and play an old favorite, “Just the Two of Us.” A beautiful touch.
Unfortunately, the service did not match the atmosphere. My reservation was at 11:30, and I arrived early at 11:25. Despite being seated immediately, my server didn’t approach my table until 11:42. At that point, I could only hope the food would make up for the slow start.
The bread was visually appealing and had potential, but it lacked seasoning. The balsamic helped, but without herbs or flavor, it landed in “just okay” territory.
For my entrée, I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and swapped the scrambled eggs for over easy. I was told the kitchen couldn’t do over easy—only poached. When the poached eggs arrived, they were completely firm, not runny at all. At that point, it became clear why over easy wasn’t an option: the poached eggs weren’t executed correctly either. The biscuits were also hard, which didn’t help the dish. If I’m being generous—because it was my birthday—I’d call the meal a 7.5. Realistically, it was closer to a 5. A proper poached egg should have a soft, runny center. This one absolutely did not.
As for the service, my server eventually warmed up, always smiling when she returned to the table, but first impressions matter—and hers simply wasn’t great. Because of the rocky start, I didn’t bother mentioning the issues with my food or ordering a second glass of wine. I remained polite, tipped well, and kept it moving. But if I’m honest, the experience didn’t give me confidence in the service on my side of the restaurant. With the room nearly empty, there wasn’t a reason to fall behind or miss the basics.
Overall, the atmosphere was memorable, the live music was a highlight, but the food and service didn’t match the beauty of the space. If assigned the same server again, I’d likely choose to dine elsewhere.

Came for dinner last night and Haley was our waitress, we have come countless times but have never had an experience like she provided. Her knowledge of the menu and wine pairings was truly unmatched. It was a perfect experience thanks to her suggestions. I will ask for her every time we make reservations from now on.

Our service was great and our server Jillian was awesome the first evening. Service was great the second evening. I had the Chicken Napoleon the first night and the Chicken Saltimbocca the second. My wife had the scallops the first night and the mushroom ravioli the second night. Excellent place to visit and eat!

We celebrated a 55th wedding anniversary for my in-laws at The Bistro at Gervasi and I must say from setting the reservation to the pictures when we left, the entire experience was exceptional! Our server Grace was amazing!! If I could give more than 5 stars for service, I definitely would! She was very attentive but not hovering. Grace had great food and drink recommendations and made our entire party feel as if we were special guests! The Bistro at Gervasi will be our number one choice the next time we have a special occasion!

The Bistro is by far the best dining experience in the Canton area. The food is incredible, and the service a step above that.
I must recommend if you decide to dine here, ask for Spencer. He went well above and beyond the highest of standards for us, sharing his wealth of knowledge on the wines and spirits, as well as the dishes. The true highlight of his service though, came in the personally performed performance by our table side. Unforgettable, unmatchable, and a true hallmark of the quality of Gervasi. I cannot recommend enough.

This was my first time at the Bistro. Service was very good and the atmosphere is warm, rustic and inviting. Unfortunately the food was not up to the same standard. I had the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, the chicken was very dry and the salad was a whole Caesar heart with some (not enough) dressing drizzled over it – I’ve had much better Caesar salads at other restaurants. My friend’s seafood pasta was good (not great), and my daughter enjoyed her salad topped with salmon. I do recommend the Brussels sprout appetizer with balsamic – delicious. It was not a bad experience, but it just didn’t live up to all the hype. On a side note – the sister restaurant, Twisted Olive, was excellent that last time I ate there about a year ago.
UPDATE: Regarding your response: if I’m paying almost $200 for a dinner for three people I shouldn’t have to send anything back. That food never should have left the kitchen. That’s why people come to you as opposed to cheaper restaurants. So don’t put the responsibility back on me.

My husband and I went out for lunch for a special occasion. The service was top notch (Grace was a great server!) and we loved the rustic, cozy atmosphere. Lunch came with bread and oil which was a nice starter. Tried the warm ricotta – it was good but not sure I’d get it again.
Our main entrees were excellent. My husband ordered a Gervasi favorite – the Tuscan short rib, and I had a filet. Best meal out we’ve had in a while. Of course, we also enjoyed the wine. We were so impressed with everything and can’t wait to return for our next special occasion.

The desert was very good. The go too is a Pizza (soft pizza, not crunchy just fyi). The drink specials all taste delicious and the wine is excellent. I enjoyed the Pasta with Breakfast Sausage but way too many onions (like a lot). Still a great choice for the family.

Everything about this experience was AMAZING. Grace was one of the best servers we have ever experienced. You should take a video of her service skills and sell it to other restaurants to show how a server should be. We felt very special the whole meal. We had the seared tuna to start and I had the almond crusted cod and my husband had a chicken dish. I cannot wait to come back to eat and stay here again.
