If you’re wanting fast and speedy service, I wouldn’t suggest here. It felt like once we were sat it took a while for our server to come around. Then we got our menus and asked for a minute. Which turned into 15-20.
They weren’t busy and there was plenty of spots to sit and such, just no sense of urgency across the place.
We’re not a picky group but we modified our food a little bit and asked for sides and such which were not delivered as asked.
Overall the food was good and tasteful which made up for the over 30 minute wait.

We had our lunch crew show up and we’re pleasantly surprised with the quality and amount of the food. Four of us had fish and chips and the fish was crispy and not full of oil. Frys were good. The shrimp tacos looked good and he said they tasted better then they looked. One had a spicy chicken sandwich and everyone enjoyed lunch.
Had another lunch meeting here. Hard to try other items on the menu when the fish and chips were great last time we met here. Ten guys showed up and Jacob waited on us in the bar side which was a good spot for us. All the drinks were very good and besides the fish and chips others had Rubans. Only one glitch, the coleslaw was a bit salty and when one of the kitchen staff tasted it she brought out other sides to fix the problem. The supplier messed up the coleslaw but we had a great time and Jacob was a very good server!

No. Have an allergy? THATS TO BAD, you get NOTHING. Had the salad, hoping for the best. No no no no no. Chicken… BURNT to the CORE. The veggies tasted unwashed if that makes sense. My sister had the fries, they looked dusty somehow. She only got like a handful anyway. AND she found a hair in them. Burgers were crust too. I’m not sure if it’s because we had a large group or if it’s a regular thing. The service was pretty good. Handled well for such a large group. Atmosphere is decent, not too noisy. But the food… NO. Prices are not worth it.

Ordered through uber eats so we can expect things to be cold sometimes but this was worst than cold food. Missing multiple items in my $150 order(before taxes, fees and dasher tip) including barrel fries, side salad and about 7 or so extra sides of sauce I paid for and the ones we did get they couldn’t have even bothered to throw a lid on them! Beer cheese was DRY and solid, mushroom fries were so hard and chewy they could literally chip a tooth, missing its dipping sauce and the worst idea I ever had was falling for a gimmicky Reuben pizza for $28 RIDICULOUS. The ingredients were sparse as in I could have bought a Reuben with more meeat and sauerkraut on it, the cheese didn’t even reach the outer cut pieces and the size of the pizza is the same size as a large burrito shell. Just so disappointed by the carelessness. UPDATE: tried the Reuben pizza and either they don’t put the 1000 island dressing on the pizza or it’s just another side of sauce we didn’t get but the pizza is so dry with sauce… $28!? Really!?

had high hopes after hearing so much about this place from friends but a major letdown. we walked in and waited about 5 minutes before being greeted or acknowledged. waitress told us to pick anywhere. we sat close to the bar and waited 30 minutes for a menu/drinks. nobody asked if we were helped yet. dakota, the bartender finally came to take care of us. friendly service from him especially considering the fact he was also taking care of the bar. we ordered our food asap since we had 30 mins to look at an online menu. took another 30 mins for us to get our food and it was cold. asked for silverware and waitress completely forgot about it because they were all out. mind you it was a tuesday night and not busy at all. we will not be back.

I haven’t been to a Barrel House in years. I remember when they first started establishing in the Quad Cities around 2009. Back then, they pretty consistently offered a variety of beers on tap, a good assortment of bar food, and a comfortable atmosphere to hang out with friends. I wasn’t really feeling beer this Sunday afternoon and didn’t really want to be around anyone else, but I was hungry. Maybe a burger from Barrel House would satisfy?
Upon entering, this Barrel House was pretty much as I remember it before leaving the area a decade ago. There’s a bar right along one wall by the entrance, high top seating throughout most of the dining area, and a door to the patio out another door (though still closed due to the cold weather). After being greeted at the door, I took a seat at the bar, got a menu from the very nice bartender, and began pondering my lunch.
As far as chain bars go, Barrel House is clean and has a reasonable sound level. The floors are covered by a reddish 1 foot square ceramic tile, while the overhead is uncovered, displaying to all who would glance upward the black painted HVAC ductwork, structural supports, and conduit. Also present here are what appear to be some kind of sound dampening panels – these probably explain the manageable overall noise level in the space.
I ended up choosing a Barrel Burger, the Barrel House’s version of the most basic of burgers. The bartender was good to let me know they had only one cook on today, so food orders may take a little while longer. Even with this warning, I swear my food only took about 15 minutes to get to me.
There’s not much to say about the food. Barrel House makes a solid burger. The Brioche Bun has the requisite combination of fluffiness and richness and the burger itself was done but not dry. The fries were pretty standout though – thin and battered, they were crisp and fluffy all at once. I’d come back for these alone!
Not sure I’ll be back anytime soon, as this Barrel House is a bit out of my way. I’d come back with a group in the future though, especially to share a dessert if desired (the cake looks really good). All in all, they make a good, quick lunch that satisfies. Thanks, Barrel House!

We stopped here on the way thru town to get a bite to eat. We were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of items on the menu. We ordered burgers with fries. Mine were sweet potatoes waffle fries. Their regular fries were delicious. I highly enjoyed how they seasoned them. Their burgers were delicious as well. Mind had sautéed portobella mushrooms and sautéed onions on it. They have coke products.

We were there for a hockey event, and there was an intoxicated customer. He wasn’t physically violent, and Fatima easily dodged his inappropriate comments towards her. But when he started drunkenly gravitating towards other customers, Nicole politely ushered him out of the restaurant after multiple polite warnings. Since it was below freezing outside, she let him come back inside until someone was able to come get him. Both her and Fatima handled him with expertise, and were genuinely concerned about his wellbeing until he was safely headed home. I’m not sure if it could’ve been handled better!
