We had reserved a table at 7pm online, but later called in to change the time to 7:30pm to which the hostess who answered agreed. However, when we arrived at 7:40pm, they told us that they had given our table away, even though the restaurant says they have a 15 minute grace period. It turns out that they did not actually change our original reservation and had given our table away. Our hostess (Nelly) however implied that we were lying about changing the reservation and that we merely came late…

Hearing this, the server (Meg) was very nice and apologetic that we lost our table and offered to give us a table right away. We were already walking towards the table and were about to sit down, when Nelly told us we were not allowed to do that as we just arrived. This was in spite of the fact that the table was already clean and ready to be seated, and there was no line of people to sit down instead of us… Eventually we did sit down within 15 minutes of us arriving, but the waiting around to sit down felt unnecessary and spiteful by the hostess…

Aside from this initial interaction, the food was okay. Some of their items are quite good such as their spicy tuna crunchy roll, bara chirashi, and hotate sushi. However, a lot of their other items such as their blue crab roll or negitoro handroll were just okay. That being said, their price is quite affordable for a nice meal which is hard to find around this area. The decor is also quite nice and homey while being very cultural and thematic.

this place is one of my favorites in the world, this is the only place i ever want to go get sushi, it’s the last reasonably priced place in LA and the fish is the freshest around. This place has bee around since the 80s with hardly any changes and i hope it stays that way, it holds such importance and sentiment value for me and i tell anyone who needs a sushi restaurant to come here. simply perfect, even the things i don’t like about it, I like and i know that doesn’t make any sense but this place is truly special in that way. For 2 people, you can order as much as your heart desires, actually be full of sushi and beer and the bill will be around $100. i tried another “fancier” place once, got 2 rolls each, was still soooo hungry and paid the same amount. Usually no wait but once in a while it’s about 10 minutes.

Ok SO here are the “things i don’t like” but keep in mind that these really shouldn’t deter you from coming:

1. sometimes the service is a bit lagged, that’s only happened twice. and i wouldn’t say it’s an issue for the restaurant as a whole but every once in a while the waiter isn’t attentive. again of the many times ive gone, ive only really felt ignored twice and it wasn’t a particularly horrible interaction it was just we couldn’t get anyone’s attention

2. if most places cut their rolls into six slices for example, this place cuts their rolls into four so the roles is too big. I wish they would give you the same amount, but just slice it more so that the pieces are more manageable. this critique feels very lame because essentially I’m saying “my sushi is too largely sliced” boohoo i know i know and so THATS WHY i also say that everything I don’t like about this place, I still like because this complaint is minor and sometimes to take a bite out of a oversized piece of sushi is kinda pleasant in a weird way

Hands down the highest quality sushi I’ve ever had. Their crunchy spicy tuna roll and spider roll are ridiculously good and I highly recommend trying them. Just be aware the portions are semi-small.

I will admit though, our waiter forgot about us for at least 30 minutes after being seated and it was hard to flag down any other waiters because they were so understaffed and busy (on a weekend evening).

Other than that they have an awesome warm and lively atmosphere loaded with Japanese decorations.

this place has a very special thing that’s hard to describe. it’s got a vibe. it’s got a very nice energy. laid back in the right ways. sushi is really good, and a really good price. we like to just show up mid-afternoon, grab a booth, get some hot sake and cold asahi, yellowtail and salmon and tuna. reliable, affordable, relaxed. a calm space to enjoy delicious food.

I will definitely say that food is much better when you dine in vs. takeout. Made reservation for 3 on Friday night, and we were seated quickly. It was pretty full when we arrived and started to form a wait line around after 7 pm.

This is probably the only place I order spicy tuna roll. as you will see from the photo, the roll is stuffed with spicy tuna. Kinda like spicy mayo tuna. Fish was fresh, and the service was great! Better food and better experience when you dine in for sure.

I visited again after a long time. I visited for lunch and there were a lot of customers, but parking was okay. It is a restaurant with a good Japanese atmosphere. It feels like I am in Japan. The fish doesn’t feel that fresh, but the sushi is presented beautifully. The price is also reasonable.

They’ve got their sushi game on lock, from the freshest fish to the expertly crafted rolls. And let me tell you, the attention to detail is next level. The chefs here are like sushi samurais, and they roll up some mouthwatering creations.

The menu, oh man, it’s a sushi adventure. You’ve got your classic California rolls and sashimi for the traditionalists, but the specials are where things get wild. Unique flavor combos, unexpected ingredients, and fresh catches of the day – it’s like a sushi journey for your taste buds.

The ambiance is zen-like, with cool vibes and a sushi bar where you can watch the masters at work. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, the staff is super friendly and makes sure you’re well taken care of.

In a city known for its diverse food scene, this place is a hidden gem in the sushi world. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just a newbie, you’ve gotta try their sushi. It’s some of the best in town, and you’ll be thanking your lucky stars you found this spot. So, get your chopsticks ready and dive into a sushi adventure – you won’t be disappointed!

want to start off by saying that this place is definitely timeless and i understand why it is one of the first ever sushi places in LA. The prices are unbelievable and i went with 2 other friends and ended up ordering a lot of food. The thing with sushi it’s hard to get full usually, but here the sushi that would be 2-3x the price is affordable and delicious. The atmosphere is great and authentic and your surroundings are pleasant and vibrant. Lots of people speaking japanese to the sushi chef and made the experience at the bar feel fun. i wish i got more pictures but we were starving but we wanted to try a little bit of everything. This place is great for family and friends and even a date at the bar for a fun time. make sure to on off hours or make a reservation if you can cause it can get packed in there. Overall it’s worth a drive to the K town area and get full.

This place has been open since as long as I’ve been alive it feels like. The food was amazing and there was no wait for lunch at around 12:30pm. I think the place is cash only so might wanna double check but other than that, it was an amazing experience.

Have been going to Noshi Sushi for over 40 years. It has always been the most consistent, no frills, freshest fish ever. It’s for sure the OG of LA sushi spots and we were going there as a family before it was trendy! One of those consistent little gems that if you know you know.
