I visited Blue Point Grill in Princeton, NJ, and it definitely delivers a polished, upscale dining experience. The restaurant is very nice inside with plenty of seating, and it has that refined atmosphere that makes it great for a date night or special occasion.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel smooth and well paced.

As for the food, it was very good, fresh, and well prepared. The seafood quality is clear, and everything was cooked with care. That said, while the dishes were great, they were not the absolute best I have ever had. Also, the portion sizes are on the smaller side, especially considering the price point, and the place is definitely on the expensive end.

Parking can also be a challenge, especially during peak hours, so be prepared to circle around or walk a bit.

Overall, Blue Point Grill is a high quality, upscale seafood spot with fantastic service and a polished atmosphere. The food is very good, though the portions and pricing might make it more suited for when you want a refined experience rather than a big, hearty meal.

Ate here for a birthday dinner! I love seafood so this was perfect. I had the black cod with sweet potato fries. The fish was very oily but the flavor was great. The fries came with a Dijon mustard dip that went really well. I think the food is worth the price if you love fish. I will definitely want to come back again.

I came to Blue Point Grill wanting to have a nice dinner with my family who were visiting from out of town. I made the reservation a week in advance and we arrived right on time when they opened at 5pm.
Right away the experience started badly. The hostess (slightly overweight, I think her name was Nicky) didn’t even greet us. No “hi”, no “good afternoon”, not even a smile, nothing. I walked up and told her we had a reservation and she just grabbed the menus and walked us to a table right next to the bathroom.
Normally I wouldn’t care if it was just me and my wife, but since I had family visiting I politely asked if we could move to a table closer to the window. Mind you, the place was basically EMPTY. We were probably the first table there.
Her response?: “NO. THAT’S THE ONLY TABLE I HAVE FOR YOU.”
I was honestly surprised by the tone, but I didn’t want to start the evening with drama so I said fine and we sat down by the bathroom.
Then I asked if we could get one extra chair because I had accidentally reserved for 6 but we were actually 7 people. My mistake, totally.
She immediately started yelling:
“YOU BOOKED FOR 6 NOT 7! I CAN’T GIVE YOU A CHAIR! YOU NEED TO SQUEEZE IN! IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT I’LL BE HAPPY TO GIVE THE TABLE TO SOMEONE ELSE!”
I was honestly shocked. Embarrassed. Humiliated. My family was standing there looking at me like what is going on.
Who talks to customers like that??
At that point I was about to walk out, then I swallowed it and did not want to make a scene because I had family visiting from out of town and didn’t want to ruin the night.
But honestly this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The hostess is literally the first point of contact with customers and she was rude, aggressive, and acting like she was on some kind of power trip.
I don’t care if someone is stressed or underpaid, or if its a popular restaurant or not, or if its fully booked or not, that does NOT justify talking to customers like that.
I rarely write negative reviews, but the way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable. Completely trashy and unprofessional customer service.

I first came to Blue Point Grill many years ago, maybe almost ten years ago.. I’m not sure why I waited this long to come back. The food here is incredible. For seafood lovers, this is the place to be. There is so much variety, more than just your standard salmon or tuna. They got it all.

I started with grilled calamari – I was skeptical at first, since calamari is generally fried, but I’m glad I took the waitress recommendation. It was delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked with a nice garlic sauce – perfect texture and flavor. The same for the grilled octopus as well. Even the Greek salad was amazing.

For my entree, I got the crispy barramundi on risotto. It was very good, maybe a bit too crispy for my liking, but the flaky white fish inside was scrumptious.

Finished off dinner with a pound cake brûlée. Which is like a pound cake, but one side is brûléed, forming a crispy torched crust. Amazing.

Will definitely be back again!

I have driven by this place many times but when wife said she wanted to go one day I knew that was the hint for mother’s day.

I will start with that the staff is very friendly. Kept us updated on the status of our order and they have good communication with the kitchen to know what’s out.

We started with sweet chili shrimp and fried calamari…… so good! The shrimp was fresh never have we had it that good! A must try if you get the chance to go.

Entree was short rib and garlic mashed potatoes, Costa Rican mahi mahi, crab stuffed shrimp and fish & chips. Beautiful presentation, perfect portion for each person. No over or under seasoning everything was just right.

Desert we shared a passion fruit ice cream and mango sorbet. A nice change from what we had for dinner very fragrant and unique flavors.

If I could give the food 10 stars.. I WOULD! A definite recommendation for seafood lovers & them being BYOB just adds to the perfection. We had the octopus which was delicious along with the crab cakes . For my entree I had the Seafood Bouillabaissee which was phenomenal (a must try)! The food is soo fresh it’s an understatement. I was recommended by my friends and was amazed, will definitely be back!

Been coming here for the last 20+ years and still love it. These days, ordering the jalapeño lime shrimp, oysters, and crab dip have been compulsory. I miss the blackened catfish, which may be something that comes back, but I just haven’t seen it in awhile.

No matter, this place will remain in my permanent rotation.

We had dinner for 3 at 7pm on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very full, and our table near the kitchen was quite loud. Service was attentive until about 8:30 and at that point the staff started to want to go home as the restaurant began to clear out. We ordered an iceberg wedge, clam chowder, and several types of oysters for starters, the oysters were pricey at $3.75 each but we’re the best tasting choice. The salad and the chowder were just average. For mains we had scallops, swordfish and king salmon, all prepared grilled. All were good but not standout exceptional. Because the fish only comes with a starch and vegetables are shared family style add-ons, mains come out looking brown / beige and unappetizing – there is no color on the plate. Four stars as the food is good, but not quite worth the very high prices and the presentation is lacking. Total cost with no drinks and no desert came to $75 per person…

Really good fish, they know how to do it. I recommend the swordfish to have a new experience with the flavors and textures. Bring your wine because they don’t offer drinks/alcohol.
