I recently visited DanDan Wayne with a party of 12, and we had a great experience. The service was excellent, and despite the size of our group, we were seated promptly thanks to our reservation. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy, and the restaurant did get busier as the night went on. The food was flavorful, though a bit on the salty side, but overall, very satisfying. AMAZING! We got the Scallion pancakes, Chicken fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, and Green beans with pork. We got a 3 spice level and then a 5. We were surprised the spice level was accurate. Usually places say how “spicy” their food is but it’s usually not to my spice level. The 5 was good.

Part of the DanDan trifecta — Ardmore, Wayne, and Rittenhouse Square — this Main Line location was absolutely PACKED on a Sunday night in February. The bar was full, the dining room was buzzing, and the energy was strong from the moment we walked in.
We started at the bar — a beautiful natural wood top with warm lighting and a lively crowd. The cocktail program is excellent. The margaritas were fresh, balanced, and perfectly salted.
Here’s exactly what we ordered:
• Gold Bunapi Mushrooms
• Black Pepper Fish
• Snow Pea Leafs with Garlic
• Dry Pot Chicken
• Flying Noodles with Beef
• Dumplings in Chili Oil
• Dan Dan Noodles – rich, savory, and perfectly balanced
• Pork Belly Bao Buns – soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor
• Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) – delicate, juicy, and textbook perfect
Every dish came out hot, flavorful, and beautifully executed. The spice levels were authentic and layered without overpowering the ingredients. The Dry Pot Chicken brought real depth and heat. The Black Pepper Fish was bold and aromatic. The Flying Noodles presentation is impressive and the texture was outstanding. The dumplings — both in chili oil and the soup dumplings — were spot on.

REALLY loved the cumin hand ripped noodles- it really reminded me of the same dish I had in Chongqing, China – about 90% there. As another reviewer said it was perhaps a bit sweet. But I was very impressed. Tasty!
We also had the Duck Bao which were good- could have used a bit more duck and I missed the crispy skin.
The second dish we had was the Garlic Sauce dish with tofu which was also good but candidly didn’t excite me like the cumin lamb!

The food was creative and full of flavor, with a balance of traditional Asian influences and modern presentation. The restaurant had a good ambiance and the service was attentive.
One small area that could use a little improvement is the restroom, which didn’t quite match the otherwise polished vibe of the restaurant.
Overall, still a great spot and definitely worth a visit for the food and atmosphere.

The spicy food here is delicious! I really enjoyed the spicy hot pot with beef, fried chicken wings, and dan dan noodles. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent—fast and friendly. The atmosphere is great, especially with the bar counter, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends or have a date.
The only downside is that the food was quite salty. I asked the staff to use half the usual amount of salt for everything, but it was still a bit too much. I hope this can be improved next time. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic place!

Sadly, they lost a long time customer today. Rice is the base of the dish yet now they give a side of rice-not even. Cutting it back this much feels like shrinkflation, especially at today’s prices. Unless you ask for extra, the value just isn’t there anymore. They lost me. In fact, they told me I can buy extra. In other words, you now have to pay extra for rice just to finish an already $40 meal. That’s wild

Fantastic cuisine, excellent service and nice surroundings make this a must visit. The restaurant has both a bar and dining room and serves a wide range of creative, delicious items. While I have neither the cultural background nor travel experience to judge “authentic”, I can say that these are not your strip mall variety Chinese dishes.
