They serve food (we didn’t eat), and have a full bar. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
My night here did not disappoint.
First let me say Arlenis was fantastic. She was genuine and always there when I needed anything. I bought a shirt from Felicia when I rented the table and she was also super nice. Kudos to management for retaining such good help.
As far as the venue, it was everything I hoped it would be. There was a great crowd even though it was a Tuesday night. All the players around me were courteous and friendly. I shot for about three hours and enjoyed every minute of it. They probably have the best seating of any pool hall I’ve ever been in. It very comfortable and there was plenty of it.
My only disappointment was that I had to leave because I had to get up early the next day for work. I easily could have shot for another 2-3 hours.
I did not eat anything because they were remodeling the kitchen, so I cannot comment on that.
If you’re more than a casual pool fan, you probably already know about Griff’s. I felt the magic when I was there and I will absolutely come back the next time I’m in town.
After the person I was with left their ID to hold a pool table (which staff allowed), we were later told it wasn’t scanning, and asked for my ID as well. After waiting with no explanation, we went up to the bar and were told that both of our IDs were invalid and cannot be given back to us, insisting we come back the next day to speak to the general manager.
We drove there and obviously needed our licenses to get back home. Instead of simply refusing service (which would’ve been understandable), she chose to withhold our IDs, showed zero concern, and just kept repeating herself. We even showed our passports as a second form of identification, but she quite literally laughed in our faces and still refused to return them.
It was only after I said that she didn’t have the authority to confiscate our IDs that she gave them back and said “good luck.” The entire experience was humiliating, stressful, and completely unnecessary. Refusing service would’ve been fine, but holding our IDs hostage was unacceptable.
As someone who has worked in a place where ID scanners were constantly being used, I would never put another person in this predicament. Do better.
