We went to La Pollera Colorada is on S Highland Ave and Barry Rd in Clearwater when we first moved to Florida. Eight years later, my hubby and I decided to try it again for a date night. The restaurant design changed but not the décor. I guess they changed after covid. This is a small place in a strip mall and wasn’t busy for a Friday night. The staff was excellent and service was quick. It seems like a place one could spend quality time eating and chatting with your party and not feel rushed. It wasn’t loud and has a great atmosphere. One thing, we ordered a kraft of Sangria, unknown to us for a party of two, it was a pitcher of Sangría. It was a bit much for two. The food portions were very large. We should have shared; we thought we were hungry until we saw our order. The food was delicious and good leftovers. There is also a small case with baked goods but we were too full to even look! We will definitely return.

The food was amazing and very fast. Was allowed to enjoy our meal and not be rushed. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great time over the corporate restaurants anyday.

Delicious empanadas, jugos naturales, bandeja paisa, and you get so much food (we split it between two people). Very good prices. My Colombian husband was very pleased. Definitely recommend. The location (neighborhood/shopping area) is lacking but don’t let that deter you from this great restaurant! They also had some imported Colombian food products and a bakery area.

Love this restaurant, This place truly feels like home! The food is absolutely delicious, just like a home-cooked meal, and the staff are warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. I was especially impressed with their daily menu, tasty, varied, and affordable. The restaurant is small, but that only adds to its charm and cozy atmosphere. Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in Clearwater!

I had an incredible experience at this Colombian restaurant! The food was absolutely fantastic—the red beans were especially delicious, packed with flavor. The service was equally impressive; the staff was so welcoming and attentive. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary flan! I can’t wait to come back.

Visiting our daughter’s church downtown, decided, the three of us, to check out some place nearby. We liked the reviews, so my daughter chose La Pollera, thinking it was Mexican. It was Colombian, so trying some new things. Place was packed, we were lucky. There was one open table, so seated right away.
We were brought waters and menus and ordered the Beef Empanadas as an appetitizer. My wife selected the Ajiaco, Chicken and Potato soup. My daughter decided on the Sandwich de Carne, Steak sandwich. After looking for something different, I chose the Frijoles con Garra, Beans with pork skin, Fried Pork Belly, Rice, Fried Plantains and Avacado.
Apparently every meal comes with a small salad, which was nice. As we were eating our salads, our Empanadas came. Wow! These were the best Empanadas we had ever eaten. Crispy, hot, well filled, and delicious.
Our meals came and they were whoppers. Especially after 3.6 Empanadas with my daughter – my wife only had 1/2. My wife’s soup was huge, most of it went home. As did 1/2 of my daughter’s sandwich. Couldn’t believe it was only $7.45, a great deal and very tasty. My beans and beans were great and I enjoyed the Pork Belly. Again, half went home for another meal. To wrap it up we were brought a small piece of Caramel Flan to try.
Food was good, service was great, good ambiance but a bit loud at time. My only disappointment was their hot sauce was not even warm. But altogether a nice meal as introduction to Columbian food. Next time I’ll try something else again!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant with my lovely Rosa yesterday. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, who shared some of his most popular dishes with us. In return, I introduced him to the refreshing Arnold Palmer drink. The personalized service and the warm, inviting atmosphere made the experience truly unforgettable!

Graat service, great Sangaria and food. We will be back. The owner greeted us and even asked about our meal. Waiter attentive. I ordered the frijoles with chicharron. This was some of the best beans I’ve eaten. The platter had beans, fried chicharron, avacado,, rice, fried plantain, and a rice cake. The o erall meal is now a favorite. So flavorful. My spouse ordered the carne asada platter which came with a thin slice of steak, rice, beans and sweet fried plantains. Said it was delicious. We ordered half pitcher Sangaria which came with diced apples and oranges. It was perfect. Waiter even made sure our glasses had perfect amount of fruit. Refreshing drink. We were also given a complimentary flan for dessert. It was a perfect sweetness to our evening.

Small restaurant with great food. Went in for lunch on a Tuesday and it was packed. As soon as i sat down and looked at the menu i knew why. The menu had typical Colombian dishes and at very affordable prices. I had the lunch special of lentil soup that came with a large grilled piece of chicken, rice, and salad for just under $10. That is an excellent deal and the taste was just like homemade. Not only that, but the servers and owner are very attentive and engaged with all the customers. Will definitely come back when in the area as you cant beat the prices and the quality of food and service. Highly recommended
