Saul gets my 5 star review for professional, friendly and efficient service. The food was excellent. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because of the freight trains and road noise. But the service and food far outweighed the noise factor.

A friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! I was sat immediately, service was perfect, just enough check ins without being annoying. Nice thick crunchy chips, salsa with great flavor and a bit of a kick. Ordered the carne asada wet burrito. FULL of perfectly charred carne, avocado and pico. Red sauce was perfect and cheesy, I devoured most of it!! I will be back to try the tacos next!

Always consistently outstanding and authentic. Again and again, each time we visit the food is outstanding and the staff treats us like family. It’s always a treat to us. The shrimp salad in particular is one of the top two i’ve ever tasted in my life. El Mexicali is a special place and unique dining experience that is absolutely authentic.

Looking for a breakfast burrito while going through Indio. Staff was friendly, and they have a nice outdoor seating area, but we wanted to grab and go. The food was tasty, but for the cost, the bfast burrito should have been bigger. My napkin was much bigger. I might stop in again while traveling, but I’ll probably try another place first.

Stopped off on our way from the Salton Sea to Palm Springs. So glad we did!
The shrimp stuffed jalapeños, are a must!! Even our party member that’s not a huge fan of spicy foods had not trouble eating ( so don’t be nervous if you think it might be too hot )!
The sauce on the fish tacos, incredible!
Plenty of parking and outside seating for dining. The staff is more than happy to help you figure out their favorites!

Really good food. Serves chips and salsa. We had one of their most famous appetizers called “yellow peppers” stuffed with shrimp. It was delicious, and had a kick to it spice wise. Service was just as good.
