I recently stumbled upon YEG Burger, and it is a total hidden gem. I ordered the $15 lunch deal featuring the Backyard Burger (single smash patty), and the value is unbeatable.
The burger itself was amazing—the BBQ aroma is no joke. You can smell and taste that smoky flavor throughout, which really sets it apart from your standard smash burger. The fries were solid and definitely “above average”—not your typical fast-food style, but a great portion for the price. It’s a win-win all around.
What really stood out was the service. I asked to try the YEG homemade sauce, and the team was awesome enough to give it to me for free since it was my first time in. I really appreciated the gesture!
Great food, friendly staff, and a price point that’s hard to beat in the city. If you haven’t found this spot yet, you’re missing out.

Wonderful burger spot. Homemade burgers . Quality ingredients. Fresh fries. My favorite is the mushroom burger. Delicious! Excellent milkshakes. Ferrero rocher is so good and the only place I’ve ever seen this flavor. Friendly staff and efficient service ! A great local joint to support ! It’s a regular spot for us !

I would rate it higher if I could. My kids loved the burgers. My 11 year old said it was incredible. We ate 3 meals in Edmonton over the past 3 days and this was my son’s favourite of them all.

I had the Honey Hot Buttermilk Breaded chicken burger. It was nice and juicy and had plenty of flavor. The condiment amount was perfect, and the bun held up nicely. My other family members had the OKC Smash burger and the MP burger. They both said the flavor was spot on, condiment amount was perfect and the buns held up. We all had fries and they were piping hot, great seasoning and homemade. The gravy was also tasty.
The washroom was clean, however the hall on the way looked like it needed a little TLC.
Price wise, comparable to most other decent burger establishments.

We’ve been going to YEG Burger for over 3 years, ever since we moved to the neighbourhood. They have the best Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich I’ve ever had, and it’s cooked perfectly every time! I also highly recommend their poutine (with curds), it goes great as a side or it can be a meal on its own!

Under new ownership, but exact same menu and quality as before! I’m glad Sam is still there because he’s killing it in the kitchen! Fresh bun, very lean, meaty beef patties and perfectly cooked fries! Gravy is a bit too salty/seasoned but love that they use mozzarella instead of cheese curds…curds still available for those who prefer them. Clean restaurant, great food and awesome service(Sam)! I recommend trying their milkshakes, buttermilk chicken burger, poutine and smokie! It’s also halal if that’s of importance to you.
