Ate at El Charro for a casual Mexican dinner and it was a good, no-stress choice. Chips and salsa came out quick, the food was hot, and the portions were the kind where you’re full by the end. I went with a classic combo plate and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned without being over-salty. Service was friendly and checked in enough, but it can slow down a little when the dining room is busy. Overall, I’d come back when I want something easy and satisfying.

Wow this place is truly amazing !!! The food is without a doubt incredible, very authentic if your just looking for an amazing lunch/dinner this is a great place but if your looking for a place to host a party this place is amazing !!!!!!! So accommodating, so sweet and just genuinely cared! I cannot say enough nice things about this place 10 out of 10.

I had been here about 5 years ago on business and enjoyed my experience here. I found myself back in town on business yet again and wanted to see how they were doing.
The restaurant was starting to fill up during dinner time but I was quickly seated. Brenda was my server and she was very polite and attentive.
Chips and salsa arrived. The chips were just ok and the non-hot salsa was in a squeeze bottle. This did not work with the chips because the salsa was so runny and I made a mess on the table trying to eat it with chips.
I ordered the chicken taco plate with rice and beans. The food arrived at a timely manner. A squeeze bottle of hotter salsa arrived and it was very easy to apply it to the tacos. The corn tortillas tasted so fresh. The chicken was good and the ingredients were fresh. The rice and beans were very tasty, as I added the hot salsa to them.
I would definitely come back but just ask that the restaurant provides better table salsa for the chips. I would definitely recommend this place to Mexican food lovers!

El Charro, in Amarillo. That would be a strong pass. Watered down salsa, stale, watery beans, (they dont do charro 6) plan chips, my chile rellenos was watery, chicky tenders were from frozen, my husband didn’t like his at all. All the food seemed to have no flavor. 2nd disappointment at an attempt to find good Mexican food.

We found this restaurant in Amarillo TX on our way out east, loved it so much we stopped in on our way back home. The salsa was spicy and their hotter one was smoking, $5 margarita’s cooled us down. Wishing it wasn’t a 10 hour drive so we could eat there more often.
