Was seated immediately
Our server was friendly and got us everything we requested quick
Kitchen staff was very quick on our appetizers and main course
We ordered sushi rolls and sashimi all was fresh and well presented
The asparagus soup for two had so much flavour me and my wife really enjoyed it. Added some chili oil and soy gave a great combo.
For entree we ordered the orange chicken it was crispy and flavor was very orange forward which was well recieved.
All and all our dining experience was a hit and we will be back.
Go check them out if you havent
My friends and and I went to the Mandarin tonight to eat. There were six adults, a 2 year old, a 7 month old, and a 9 month old. One set of friends got there first and told the hostess 6 adults and 3 high chairs. She sat them in the big room behind the register. Halfway through our meal, the owners wife comes in and is so rude to us. She says the room must have 12 adults, but she will let it go this time. One of my friends tries to explain to her that we did not ask for the room. We told the hostess our guests, and she sat us there. The lady gets loud. My friend asks her to tone it down. The lady begins counting everyone and says babies cannot be counted as guests. We must have 12 guests. Again, my friend says you need to talk your hostess. She sat us here. The lady says during rush hour this table must have 12 adult guests, or you can’t sit here. Again, we explained that we didn’t ask to be seated in that room. We didn’t care where we sat that it was the hostess. She stormed out saying she would talk to her. She didn’t come back. I just couldn’t believe how rude she was to us.
I would like to say that our server was wonderful. She had no idea that the owner’s wife did this.
But what shocked me was how large the portion was. First picture was the full order- second was my leftovers that I ate for breakfast today. I’m not a light eater AT ALL; if I’m getting two full meals from it, then the portion size is massive. The chicken was really, really good and flavorful, too. The cost was incredibly reasonable: I think it was $17 for the meal (the chicken and a thing of rice that was literally bulging from how much they had packed in there). Factoring in the quality, size, and price, this was better than even my favorite Chinese places from Shreveport.
I was so impressed that I started to feel bad for not leaving a big enough tip, so I decided to leave this review instead.
This place is not a buffet, and while there is no browsing entrees, the portions are fresh and right out of the kitchen while the portions would dissuade most from needing something extra.
It was a nice dining experience and we’ll enjoy going again.
Husband ordered Kwoh Ba Shrimp which was unbelievable the presentation of it was so nice and he said it tasted good.
I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp & Scallops, and that was very good. The egg rolls, I’m not so sure were totally cooked but we ate them!
Too bad we are just travelling through .. I would say, this is a must stop!
