Social Profile:

Never satisfied with the perception that Wasabi is just another Japanese Steakhouse, owners of Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse broadened the horizons to include even less likely pairings. When East meets West, exotic and unique pairings are only a few of the reasons one should try Wasabi. Our signature Specialty Sushi Rolls and Sashimi Tasting is truly out of this world when paired with a Sake Bomb! JP’s insistence on thinking outside the box will set the pitch for Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse, the most innovative and unique dinning experience one will discover.

Roomy Japanese eatery with fiery tableside hibachi grills, sushi, a full bar & contemporary decor.

The food and service were great. It was a weekday night, so it was not very busy. The prices are middle of the road for a sushi place. I recommend the Red Dragon Roll, it had slight spice and great flavor.

The reason for 4 stars was the atmosphere was a little on the drab side. It felt a bit musty and the floors were a bit sticky and the bathroom was not very clean. We did not do the hibachi style, but sat at the bar and enjoyed our food.

First time here last night and we loved it! Though it was a bit pricey, it was an amazing experience, and something we would love to do again as a family. The concept of shared dining with other families is such a unique and wonderful concept that other restaurants should adopt as well. We had so much fun, and the staff were funny and very helpful.

My food was delicious . The shrimp symphony is a must! Very good! Probably one of the best sushi places I tried so far. I also got the steak and shrimp with fried rice and vegetables. Portions are big which is a plus. And the Chef was very nice. I would recommend to others and I will be returning myself.

We’ve been coming to his wonderful Hibachi location for years before they opened their second location in Livonia (Sapporo – equally great definitely check them out!).

We recently had chance to dine here again after a long day at a local convention and I’m happy to report the service and quality has not faltered!

They don’t force you to have a ‘full table’ before starting service like bigger chains do. The prices are more reasonable and the flavor and quality of food are wonderful.

The chefs are always a fun interactive dining experience. Definitely recommend when you’re celebrating a special event for a great night!

Also word of the wise for Hibachi Virgins: you don’t want to get hibachi *before* heading off to another big event, hibachi is the event but also – being so close to the grill while your food is being cooked means your hair and clothes might smell like smoke and deliciously prepared food the rest of the night!

Went out for lunch on 7/25/21. When we first walked in it smelled musty. We got a table within 5 minutes. When we sat down we couldn’t smell anything anymore really. We sat by the window, it was nice and warm, but very dusty, Cobb webs and spider webs, definitely needs to be cleaned. Our waitress was very “comfortable” to the point where she was trying to stir the sugar into our tea by touching our straw when we were already stirring it ourself, very unprofessional in my opinion. She was also sitting down while taking other customers orders, like I said very “comfortable” and not very friendly or personable. Ordered lettuce wraps as an appetizer that were really good. Also ordered the appetizer combo which came with edamame, shrimp wontons, chicken wontons and shrimp spring rolls. None of the items from the combo appetizer were very good, they were dry and bland. Our appetizers took 20 plus minutes to come out and we barely got a lettuce wrap in and our entree came, definitely bad timing. We got 4 different sushi rolls. They were so-so. I’ve definitely had way better service and food basically anywhere else. The host was very polite and friendly, and personable, I wish he could have been a waiter. I will not be back to this restaurant.

First time here
Asked for an accommodation of non rice sushi. Chef had never done it before however it was accomplished
Appreciate the effort our server was warm and welcoming
Very patient with good listening skills
To our accommodation requests – 2 people in our party of 3 have seafood allergies
As I was not very hungry. I had miso soup House salad and non rice California roll

Suggestion – need additional lighting in the parking lot – we were not sure if the restaurant was open until we saw the cars

We ordered carry out of a specific menu item highlighting that it was for 6 people. Upon arrival home I found that it was only meals for three. Three salads, three soups, and three steak, chicken, and shrimp combos. The menu was misleading suggesting it was for 6 and not even enough to feed a family of four. The menu is so misleading that they don’t explain that the entree is in fact the combination platter. Pure and simple false and misleading information.

The total meal was $90.00 and contained (between the three combo platter) 1 steak, 1 chicken breast, and 11 shrimp divided three ways. The steak was very fatty and overcooked, the chicken was rubbery and the shrimp hadn’t been deveined. I called and complained about the lack of value and misleading information and was told a manager would call me back, which they didn’t. I understand that these businesses need to make money, but they will never be able to do it by misleading customers and not giving the value paid.

I wanted to try something new and give a new restaurant a chance, but can not reccommend in any way based on my carry out experience.

I have never left a review to any other place of business, but felt inclined to share my experience so others can plan accordingly.

Let me be honest here. The service was terrible. It took 30-40 to min to get our food. Usually soup and salad is first but they didn’t even give us that ahead. The drink we got was pretty good, and the sushi was amazing too. But when we asked for extra water they gave us a takeaway cup with black steaks on it saying that they ‘ran out’ of glass. I know how it feels to work in the service industry, been there done that, but except for the one guy who kept running around taking orders and waiting tables the other staff just kept on squatting and playing on their phone and just talking the whole time. The lack of training these newly hired school kids had were so evident that they didn’t even want to be there at work. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone.

Hibachi was fun to watch but tastes medicore. Sauce made the difference promoting salty mehness to edibly decent.
The fish was generally well cooked but the seasoning was not.
You won’t have to drag me there but I probably won’t suggest it first.
Reservations recommended.
