I discovered this place when looking for a restaurant with some vegetarian options for a family member after visiting the Book Barn… and now every time I’m in the area, I make a point to stop here to grab food. I live a fair distance away and it’s always worth a trip. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and decently priced, and the restaurant itself has a cool vibe. The pulled pork gordita and burrito are favorites of mine and my partner. I’d definitely recommend coming on a warm spring day and eating outside (maybe with a book from the Book Barn!).

Great fresh “tex-mex” food in a casual setting. The place is a little quirky but comfortable. Lots of options on the menu to the point where I was a little confused at first glance of the menu. The food was really good and the portions were perfect. I got a chicken burrito and was completely satisfied without chips when finished. My friend got the chicken jerk quesadilla and took a quarter of the portion home for later. I would definitely recommend getting an order of the chips. They are incredibly delicious and not overly salty. If you’re in the East Lyme/Niantic area, East Coast Tacos is a must to visit.

I liked this place. It’s solidly good. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. Their salsas could use some refining – not a lot of flavor & depth to them. but I liked everything else.
The chips are just standard thick corn fried tortillas chips so nothing great about them. I ordered the fried avocado soft taco which was fine except that the avocado was underripe so not ideal. The creamy chipotle sauce was very good but I think the avocado taco needs a savory salsa to offset the creamy avocado. I also had a pulled pork taco which was good – the salsa verse was good but not great. I will stop in again & try some other items.

Loved East Coast Taco I had their carnitas taco and their fish taco…both fantastic! My friend had two shrimp tacos and loved them as well. The rice and beans were okay, but the tacos were perfect. Cute spot to grab a delicious meal.

Was excited to try this place, I heard many good things about it. We started with chips and queso, the queso was rock hard after 3 minutes and tasted like it was just melted shredded cheese. The remaining food like the tacos and quesadillas were so bland it felt like a chore to finish them. Great staff, service and atmosphere but the menu needs a little more effort, need to season the food.

Different than all the other places around. So tasty, reasonably priced and generously served. Thanks ECT

This place has a lot of great reviews so I was pumped to give it a try. I was quite disappointed. The chicken taquitos were cooked in the same oil that is used to cook fish hence a very fishy taste. The jerk chicken burrito didn’t have much flavor. The waffle fries were good but tasted fish also. I don’t like fish. I don’t want fish flavoring in my food. The people are nice though.

Not sure why I havent left a review for ECT yet… I’ve been here a bunch of times and all of our visits have been great! Yesterday’s stop was no exception to this. We grabbed a “snack” on our way through the area and we couldn’t have been happier with our food. We ordered a Steak Quesadilla & an order of the Buffalo Chicken Taquitos. Both were DELICIOUS and so filling. Our pup even enjoyed a couple bites of our Quesadilla. This place is the ultimate stop for awesome TexMex!

East Coast Taco is what we would call a “whole in the wall” eatery. This is not a bad thing in anyway. It just means it’s one of those places you drive by a million times but never stop, that is, until one day you hear from the 10th person this week that, “you must try East Coast Taco.” Okay, so we bit and here we are, trying everything on the menu. We ordered chicken, beef, and pulled pork tacos, both soft and hard shell. We ordered carnitas, rice and special cheese sauce. We were doing this up right. We took everything to the beach for dinner. It was all so delicious. The pulled pork tacos were a favorite and adding the cheese sauce on the rice was heaven. If you like yours extra hot there’s a sauce for that. You may want to call ahead because they were slammed when we went in but the staff was hopping and very friendly too.

Loved the home style look of the place. The tacos were awesome. Full of flavor and you get a lot for the money. The Hawaiian specialty taco is a MUST!
