We chose this establishment for our Thanksgiving dinner, and it was a truly exceptional 5-star experience from start to finish.
Ambiance & Seating: The setting is beautiful and very well-designed. We particularly appreciated the seating arrangement—the tables are spaced far enough apart that we could easily have a pleasant conversation without being drowned out by the noise from other diners, which is a big plus.

Service Highlight: The service was fantastic. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful. A small but significant detail: they were thoughtful enough to advise us that our initial request for the jumbo shrimp cocktail might be too large for two people and suggested we order less, which we did. This kind of thoughtful attentiveness shows genuine care for the guest experience.

The Food: Every dish we ordered was superb, tasty, and prepared to our liking. We started with the delicious jumbo shrimp cocktail, pommes frites, tuna tartare, and the wonderful Iberico pork belly. For our main courses, the halibut and the Ora King salmon were both perfectly cooked. We finished the meal with excellent desserts: the classic crème brûlée and the refreshing apple mille feuille.

Value: The total price, including drinks and everything else, came out to around $370, which felt entirely justified given the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the wonderful atmosphere.

Highly recommended for a special occasion!

We visited this beautiful restaurant on our wedding anniversary, and the experience was truly lovely. While there were limited vegetarian options, everything we tried was excellent.

We started with the soup as an appetizer, which was delicious, and ordered the beet gnocchi as well. I personally loved the beet gnocchi — creamy, well-balanced, and perfectly done.

For dessert, we had the chocolate soufflé, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely loved it and a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.

We had a wonderful dinner at Bistro du Midi. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent, and Roland took great care of us. He was warm, attentive, and really elevated the experience.

We both chose the tasting menu. The highlights were the beet gnocchi, truffle tagliatelle and the amuse bouche, which was rich and flavorful. The only downside was the trout, which had a few small bones in it, a bit surprising; also, the experience lasted over two hours which was unexpected. The dessert was tasty and very creative.

The atmosphere was elegant but relaxed, perfect for a special night out. It was a lovely evening and memorable meal overall.

Bistro du Midi is a fancy spot in Boston! It’s definitely more posh than I initially expected which also means it’s pricey. Two of us went for brunch, with just one cocktail each, and the bill came to over $200 after tax and tip.

The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and sits right across from Boston Common, making it perfect for a post-brunch walk in the park. We dined on the second floor with whimsical views of the Common (it was winter and snowy!), though we noticed there’s a first floor as well which seemed a bit more casual.

We started with the beef tartare, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. It came topped with a quail egg and was absolutely perfect though a bit on the smaller side for the price point. Our cocktails were good, but nothing to write home about. They weren’t over-the-top or experimental or anything like that; pretty basic, albeit still enjoyable.

For mains, I had the burger and my husband ordered the steak and eggs. My burger was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the bread they used. The steak and eggs were the real winner. The steak was delicious, although I wish the egg component had been incorporated a bit more thoughtfully rather than simply serving two poached eggs on the side.

We ended the meal with the soufflé which was to die for. Definitely get it for dessert.

Lastly, service was just okay. Our server seemed somewhat uninterested and barely checked in on us. For a place of this caliber, I was expecting a little more.

Excellent restaurant with a good selection of dishes. The french onion soup was very good but it was the chicken schnitzel dish that really impressed me.

Good portion sizes and attentive staff. This is a nice venue to meet with friends and have a good chat with a good meal. Fair price for the quality of the food and venue.

It’s a safe place with mediocre food. Nice presentation, great service, you’ll never have something bad, but it’s really underwhelming and mediocre. Food is bland, dishes are boring and unchanged. Just a place that delivers a good experience with white table cloths and a nice environment. Food is nothing at all to go out the way for. Been coming here sporadically over 6 years and it’s the same thing every time. Scallops are great though.

We had a lovely 2-hour relaxing meal and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects.
The filet mignon and the salmon were delicious. We shared the gnocchi app and a vegetable side dish with our mains and then shared a dessert.
And we were so full!
The service was attentive but not invasive, and our server even noted that it was an anniversary celebration and brought us a special surprise! So nice!

It was our anniversary weekend, so we went all out and had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was fabulous! The food was well prepared and artistically presented. The wine pairings were not all the obvious choices but really complimented the food.

Great food! The truffle pasta was delicious and the ambience was amazing. However, the restaurant was a little overpriced and the service was okay.

Stopped by for lunch. Just in time. The atmosphere is light and open. Very nice 1960s cafe music in the background.

Let’s talk about the great service. Professional, & attentive without being over-present. This is a great highlight that makes the menu really stand out.

For lunch we had the Prix Fixe Onion Soup, Bouchon Chicken, a glass of Tatinger and for dessert, Crème brûlée.

All excellent. Delicious and timed very well. There was no rushing this lunch, it was very relaxing.

Not sure why anyone would mention price. Experience is a value all its own, and Bistro du Midi served us up an outstanding one today.
