The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and plated with real care — each dish arriving as a visual standout. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but that’s the curse of a popular spot on a busy evening. Once we sat down, everything moved quickly and smoothly.
We ordered a good variety: several rolls, noodles, and sides — but the standouts were definitely the fried rice and the Mars roll. The flavors were clean and rich without being overworked, and the portions were satisfying without feeling heavy.
The interior design carries a warm, modern Asian flair with bold energy. It’s not a quiet, tucked-away sushi bar — it’s lively, bustling, and full of personality. Great for a night out if you’re looking for something flavorful and fun.
That said, a few notes: the water was clearly basic city tap — not great. It stood out in contrast to the elevated food presentation and ambiance. Also, it’s not cheap — the price adds up quickly as you build your meal roll by roll — so expect a higher-end tab, especially for groups.
Overall, the experience lived up to the hype. It reminded me of meals I’ve had living in Southeast Asia — bold, colorful, crave-worthy. I’d return without hesitation.
I ordered the Spider Roll and the Ceviche Plate (from the Secret Menu), while my coworker went with the White Rabbit, Maui Wowie, and Low Rider rolls.
My coworker’s picks:
Low Rider: Hands down, my favorite of the night—even though I didn’t order it. The flavor was well-balanced with a nice kick from the jalapeño sauce, and the green onions really popped.
White Rabbit: Also solid. Good texture and flavor.
Maui Wowie: It was alright. A bit sweet for my personal taste, but I could see others enjoying it.
My picks:
Spider Roll: Pretty basic. It wasn’t bad, just not memorable. I’ve had better versions elsewhere.
Ceviche Plate: This was the biggest letdown. I was excited to try something different at a sushi spot, but it ended up tasting like a plain fish mix you’d find in a poke bowl. There was none of the citrusy brightness or spice you’d expect in ceviche—no noticeable lime, cilantro, or spice. I ended up asking for lemon wedges to try and bring some life into it, which helped a little but still didn’t make up for the lack of flavor.
Overall, it was an okay experience. Nothing terrible, just a bit underwhelming on my end. My coworker, on the other hand, loves this place and eats here every time he’s in town for work—so clearly, it hits the mark for some people. Maybe I just didn’t order the right things.
Would I come back? Possibly, but I’d skip the ceviche and try more of the rolls next time.
I will definitely go back.
I took my wife there for Valentine’s Day. It was great! They have her a rose and small box of chocolates when we left! Nice touch!
