Food is usually up very fast no matter what time of day it is. Always complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Staff is friendly and the food is top quality locally. This place usually stays open alot later than other places although I wish they were still open a little later on weeknights

I recently ate at El Chaparro in Lincoln. The food itself was actually really good — flavorful, hot, and came out pretty fast. I was honestly enjoying the meal at first.
However, I noticed that no one in the kitchen was wearing gloves while handling the food. That really threw me off and made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness and food safety practices. It’s hard to fully enjoy a meal when you’re questioning the hygiene behind it.
The food quality was solid, but the lack of gloves is something I think they seriously need to address. Food safety should always be a priority.

You’ll have to find sparse parking on the streets nearby so come early if you’re meeting someone, but this place really has the best deals and quality in Lincoln!

Makes me so sad to post this . I am a regular and love the food. Let me start by saying If I were to sit down i ALWAYS tip 20% (regardless of service) for my waitress because I know they don’t make minimum wage and because she’s actually serving me vs just handing me my bag at the register and I usually still tip $2-$3 on pick up orders bc I love the restaurant. Once , about a month ago, the lady at the front was rude when I picked up my order so I marked 0 for tip and somehow the change to my bank account was more than what I paid at the register. I’ve been back twice since and tipped $0 to see if it was a bad employee or if this is how the restaurant operates and each time the amount that was taken from my bank was more than the total at the register. Tipping is supposed to be optional and this feels like theft:( if I go back I’ll make sure to bring exact change.

Walked to Tico but it was after 8:00 pm, so I had to find plan B. Usually that unique flavors of the beef in the hard shelf taco, would tell me if I like the food or not and El Chaparro did it right for me! The flavors of the rice and been too … this place did it right! Will do the Diablo shrimp next time!

Truly a good mexican restraunt, the food is flavorful and authentic and they have the best sauces! They also serve chips and salsa when you sit down to eat. There are so many types of meat to choose from and they even have shrimp dishes too. It is a bit of a smaller space but they do have a place for a party of 6-8 people as well as places for parties of 1-4 people. The staff are quick, friendly, and attentive. I personally keep coming back for their excellent carne asada, burritos, and cheap prices. Definitely recommend eating here.
