The stuffed jalapenos were amazing! A big win. The chicken enchiladas were OK, but I wasn’t impressed. I asked for pinto beans, but was given refried beans (which I do not like). My margarita was very good, and the salsa was very good too. The waitresses were very friendly.

My family and I always used to eat here as kids when we would come and visit Midland. My dad always ordered the chili rellenos with the pecans and raisins. it wasn’t ever something that I wanted to try but then one day he gave me a bite and it’s always my go to dish! I highly recommend giving it a try. If you’re hesitant because of the raisins and pecans, get them on the side. it is an amazing dish and introduced it to my Filipino wife, who immediately fell in love with the chili rellenos! We’ll be back for more one day again when we visit midland!! Service was so bad I had to get up and get my own spoon and refill. I had to ask about forgotten side dishes. But still, will come back. Servers change with time but these chili rellenos will always be great.

I’ve been coming here for literally decades, lunches, dinners, birthday parties, you name it. I’m disappointed and sad La Bodega is becoming what it is now, a shadow of what it once was. The menus at the table have different prices, while the lady at the cashier has a totally different price from the menus. I had a $17 dollar cheeseburger which was very average, not a $17 cheeseburger. The refried beans were watered down, the salsa was watered down, the sodas were $4 each, they tacked on a credit card fee as well. Whoever has bought La Bodega, please wake up, you’re runnning this place into the ground.

The cashier at the front today 9-6-25 was not friendly at all. Girl w big black glasses..never spoke when we arrived but to say, how many, and checking out never said a word! RUDE! The wait time today was really bad! I have been here several times. This is my 1st complaint. Move that girl where she doesn’t have to do any customer service!

Always great tasting.

The waitresses are always super helpful. Food is always hot and fresh. The portions are always more than enough. Taco salads are always great, and a great option for gluten allergies. The queso with ground beef is always great.

Wow. I just paid $28 (before tip) for a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a small quesadilla plate. The chicken in my soup was SO dry, the quesadilla was alright but I can’t understand how it was $18. Somehow even their rice & beans were bad. Beans tasted extremely diluted with water and rice had an oily flavor.
Ridiculously overpriced.

To sum it up, this place isn’t terrible, but far from being great. I’m giving it two Stars and even if my order was exactly what I requested, it would only go up to 3 stars.

Food: I ordered a Mexican style steak. It was pretty tough and cooked considerably more than I requested (Asked for Medium-Rare, got Well-Done). That being said it tasted ok, so I kept it. The steak came with an enchilada, I asked for chicken and got beef. Again, it actually tasted decent so I just ate it. At $17.95 this dish needs to be considerably better.

Service: albeit a bit slow, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Notes: To be clear, none of these were a problem during my visit, but this resturant has some strange policies:

– After your first round of chips and salsa, it’s $4 for another round. I understand it costs them money, but it’s definitely not the industry standard.
– No “Gift Card” credit cards. I’m assuming this applies to the VISA use anywhere type gift cards.
– Odd policy on refunds or exchanges concerning “not getting what you expected” (see Pictures). Again, I understand that having to get another meal for a disappointed customer costs money. However, if this happens often enough to put up a sign, one might consider providing more detail on the menus.

Final verdict: Only if you have to.

Had the nachos, chicken was so dry it must have been from the day before. I go to check out and the lady at the front hands me another receipt that is three dollars more than the receipt the waiter gave me. When I asked why is it more, she said La Bodega charges a fee to use a credit card. They are not supposed to be able to do that. I have contacted Visa.
