I haven’t been here for a while as I found the quality of the food has slipped over the last few years. However, went back for a friend’s birthday on Friday and was very pleasantly surprised! The food was good – much better than I remembered, and we enjoyed our shared starters and mains. However, it was the service that really stood out. From the minute we were seated, our birthday girl was wished happy birthday by the staff – a really special little touch that some restaurants don’t do much anymore. But it was our server, a girl called Sophie, who made our meal even more memorable with her excellent service. She said she’d only been there a few weeks, but she was exceptional. Oh, and the staff all came and sang happy birthday with pudding at the end of the meal which was just lovely! We really enjoyed evening and will very definitely be back.

The service was delightful, the food second to none. Every mouthful bursting with taste. A starter was forgotten but as soon as the waiter was promoted it was with us within minutes. The restaurant was full but felt the service didn’t suffer. The had employed sufficient staff. As always the restaurants decor was beautiful.

I understand they were quite busy and could have done with more staff on the shop floor but there is no excuse for keeping a customer waiting 30 minutes for a glass of water after placing a drinks order. At this price point they should be more staff on the shop floor

We visited on Valentine’s Day and had a lovely dining experience. The speed of the service was exceptional, and the staff were incredibly attentive throughout our visit. The food was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely excellent. A special mention to our waitress, Jacky, who was fantastic. We would definitely go back again! We had 2 courses with cocktails. We arrived early for our booking but were still seated promptly.

I recently had an amazing meal at this place! The food and drinks were top-notch, and the service was spot on – felt really cared for throughout my visit. The staff knew the menu inside out and made some great recommendations. Honestly, I couldn’t fault anything; everything was perfect! I’ll definitely be coming back for more soon!

I had a fantastic meal and the service was spot on! The staff welcomed me with a friendly smile and really showcased their menu knowledge, which made choosing my dish a breeze. The food was top-notch, and I even got some great drink recommendations. I appreciated the option for coffee and dessert to round off the evening, though I wouldn’t have minded a second drink being offered. Overall, everything was great—can’t wait to come back!

Giggling Squid in my opinion has dropped since I 1st visited during COVID. It was empty and we had to wait a good 7mins to be seated. The waitress was lovely and credit to her. The food was yummy but seriously overpriced. We had a black Friday voucher where GS doubled our purchase which made the bill palatable. Together with a blue light 25% discount which they were not going to accept as they said we had to choose between a discount or paying with the black Friday giftcard. This was totally against how it works. The discount was separate to a giftcard we had paid for. The fact they doubled the value was neither here nor there. In the end they honoured it. A bill for 2 kids and 2 adults with non alcoholic drinks, 4 starters and 3 main dishes only, plus a mini dessert would have been £140 Inc tip but with discount was £105. The giftcard we paid for was £50. So really ended up ok for our pockets. We wouldn’t go there full price. Sorry there are better cheaper pan Asian places around with better quantities too. In addition, it was our daughter’s birthday which I told them about and asked them to do something special and whilst they put a candle in the dessert, they still charged us for it, which I found quite astonishing to be honest. A mini dessert for £4.50 and they couldn’t do a small nice gesture. Really?
So there you have it folks. As someone who likes to eat out and doesn’t mind spending money on good places and value, we will not be coming back and won’t be recommending either. It probably reaffirms why the restaurant was totally empty and hasn’t had great word of mouth reviews. It’s just overpriced chain food which isn’t all that in the bigger picture.

Armani served us, she was very helpful with my allergies. Food was delicious and great value, we got a set for less than £20 pp. Would definitely come here again!
