We underestimated this restaurant because they have quite an extensive menu. That’s usually a red flag.

Stubborn us ordered bun bo hue expecting to be disappointed, but quite surprised it was good. We gobbled it up before I realized I wanted to take a photo for the review (so excuse the not so presentable photo). The bun bo hue was really good. Authentic. Served with tons of vegetables and chili and shrimp paste on the side. No crab ball, but generous with meat and coagulated blood. My only issue is that the broth wasn’t hot enough, so it cooled quite fast too.

We also ordered banh cuon which was also executed well. Not too thick and has lots of black fungus. Served with fried meat and meat loaf and greens.

Finally, we ordered banh mi bo kho. Had generous serving of beef and tendon.

The place has a family restaurant vibe. Big chairs and tables. Garden of sorts outdoor seating which was quite cool/breezy despite lunchtime heat. The best thing is really the food. Great execution of the dishes. This is truly a good place for authentic Vietnamese food.

Magnolia Restaurant is a beautiful place with a peaceful garden and cozy villa atmosphere. The Vietnamese food is fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions — especially the pho and spring rolls. The staff are friendly, helpful, and make the dining experience very comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the quality and setting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Vietnamese food in Phnom Penh.

A Long-Overdue, Five-Star Review for Magnolia!
I can’t believe I’ve been dining at Magnolia Restaurant for years—so many times that I’ve genuinely lost count—yet have never taken a moment to write a review. That changes today! This place is an absolute gem and a non-negotiable must-visit for anyone in the area.
Magnolia is, simply put, one of the most perfect dining establishments for locals. It has that genuine charm and quality that keeps the community coming back. But let me stress the value proposition: for tourists and foreigners, the affordability here is fantastic. Every plate is generously portioned—you truly get your money’s worth and then some. The feeling of satisfaction you get from the quality and quantity of food, combined with the excellent price, is unmatched.
If you are looking for authentic, delicious food that won’t break the bank, skip the tourist traps and settle in here. Magnolia is highly recommended, and I promise you’ll leave feeling full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Lol someone in another review said “Mongolian food” This place was the highlight of my trip in Phnom Penh! Delicious VIETNAMESE food, authentic flavors. We ordered the banh xeo set where you build your own bite and it was soooo good. Came with all the sides like the rice paper, lettuce, even sausages. We also got the beef stew bo kho and the banh cuon. We got too excited when we saw the menu and ordered way too much food. The banh xeo set was plenty for 2 people! All dishes were tasty though. Will 100% be back here when I come back to Phnom Penh!

I discovered Magnolia on my last day here in Phnom Penh and would have become my go to place if I found it earlier. The value proposition is very high, staff are courteous and professional. I had the pho and was similar to the ones I had in Hanoi.

I ordered two dishes here: the salmon salad and the rice with beef. I’m not entirely sure if this is traditional Mongolian cuisine, but I genuinely enjoyed both. The salmon took a little longer to prepare, but it was totally worth it—fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The beef and rice dish was also delicious, and it came with a soup.
I ordered tea as well, it was yellow! And served in a beer glass . It wasn’t my fav tea.
The service was 5-star level—the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and had a nice atmosphere. I’d definitely come back if I visit Phnom Penh again. Highly recommend!

Was planning on going to Enzo Cafe, but shut down. Found this local hidden jem and wow! Amazing restaurant with very good price for delicious Vietnamese food. Mind blowing coffee, Pho was off the wall, omelets on steroids and fruit drinks to quench any thirst. 100% local joint no anoying tourists. ♥️

This restaurant are popular long ago until now I still people coming back. Now I grow up I have a chance to try it again. It is a Vietnamese restaurant, I recommend

Food: the flavor and cooking are well balanced, good ( but it less then before and I don’t the delicious feeling like before. Maybe I grow up) but flavor overall are good. For the price a bit expensive. The dessert are just good.

Service: good, friendly.

Atmosphere: good, old mansion with france design, are so good i like it.

We came in for dinner with a party of 17 people. The food here is decent at best. Just not a lot of flavor but the service was pretty good. It took a long time for our whole chicken to come out. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, an order of their spring rolls which are like the size of a pinky but you get a decent amount and bunch of other things. So we got everything we ordered and by the time we were all done eating we were still waiting on the chicken. Overall it’s “mid” in the young people’s slang back in the states. It’s my first time coming here and coming to Phnom Penh but the food is okay and the service is fairly good. Cleanliness is still somewhat better than a good chunk of the places I’ve seen around Cambodia so far. As a reminder just be weary on drinking ice anywhere out here. Especially for first time travelers from the states. It’s something my family had always warned me about before coming here.
