This place will 100% scratch the itch for a good burger! The BBQ Bacon Burger is outstanding and the fries were crispy and delicious. You can tell that everything is fresh.

Fantastic small local owned place to get a bite to eat. They serve local beer and soda . They have good sandwiches and other plates. You can also get fresh cut aged meats to go. Street parking or there is a lot in the back. There is additional seating upstairs along with a play kitchen for kids (pictured) and a little lookout over the kitchen.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch today while in the area. It was our first time here. We came through the back door and tried to order right there at the counter. The woman told us to order up front. We did have to wait in line to order. My boyfriend ordered the sweet heat burger. He said it was well prepared and had great flavor. I ordered the smash burger which was delicious! It was the perfect amount of food, and proces are decent. There was alot of seating. We will definitely be back.

We went here for the Restaurant Week special, the Bratwurst burger. It was my first time here and was very excited to try their food as they seem to get amazing reviews online.

Now the only thing I tried there was this burger and I’m not sure if it was a regular menu item. It was a good sandwich and the burger itself was very good. There was a heaping pile of sauerkraut on it, along with other condiments. I really enjoyed it, my daughter seemed meh on it and my wife didn’t care for it as she doesn’t like sauerkraut.

We will have to go back to give a more fair and accurate review. Based on this sandwich, I enjoyed Calabar and would happily return.

On a side note, it seemed very kid friendly to me. There were several families with kids and there was a small kitchen kids play area upstairs.

This was my first time eating here and definitely won’t be my last. I had heard and read great things about this place and I can see why. I had the weekly special, which was the Bacon Butter Burger (beef patty, cooper sharp, b&b pickle, bacon, butter baste, potato bun) and upgraded from chips to fries. The fries were great and definitely worth the upgrade. I grew up in Wisconsin, where the butter burger was invented, and I have to say this was a pretty good effort. I would definitely get it again. Our table shared some fried pickles and those were amazing as well, but are a little on the salty side. They have a smaller, but diverse selection of beers on tap. Nice outdoor dining space. Highly recommend!

Burgers and chicken sandwich were delicious. The fries were cooked to perfection. The only down side for me was the drink selection. The sodas were off-brand and tasted too sweet. Definitely will return to try other items from the menu. The restaurant is spacious and the outdoor seating is great.

We went about a year ago in February for lunch. I got the steakhouse burger and my wife got the Macdaddy. We both agreed that the burgers were over sauced and couldn’t really enjoy the burger itself.

We thought it might’ve been an off day, so we tried again. Similar results except a bit more disappointing.

Our order took over 40+ minutes. When we got our food, it was warm at best. The gravy on the poutine had already begun to solidified, and we got no cheese pull from the curds.

To avoid the over sauceyness we both ordered the classic burger to get a more accurate representation of the actual burger.

Unfortunately, it was worse… the classic was overpowered by the onions. (Maybe the onions were sliced too much which can sometimes cause them to release too much sulfur-bitter flavor). The burger was again over sauced with mayo and ketchup.

We both ordered ours “with pink” but didn’t get that. When I think of a good burger I think of a nice caramelized crust with a juicy pink interior. Instead we got an over-sauced medium well throughout lacking any crust or color on the patty itself.

Cabalar gets a lot of hype, but for the price we paid, and the quality we got, it was definitely a bummer to say the least. We would much prefer Fuddruckers (for much cheaper) over what we got from Cabalar.

The poutine was great besides the temperature. Milk shake was good too. I also enjoy the classic atmosphere and soda fountain with the classic soft drinks.

When we got to Cabalar we didn’t know what to expect. It was massive inside. They have an amazing system for preparing food and pumping stuff out. You order up front and pickup around the side. Tons of seating and room at the counter as well.

I ordered the classic burger but with a double patty. It was covered in melty cheese, fresh onion, ketchup, and came out cooked perfect. It was extremely juicy, extremely well seasoned and you can tell the beef was super high quality. This is one of the best burgers I’ve had in many years personally.

My wife got the Macdaddy and it was every bit of everything she hoped it would be. She even expressed it might well be the best thing she’s had all vacation to eat which is saying a lot.

The beef tallow fries were salty and crunchy and seasoned perfectly as well. 10/10 experience. Definitely recommend.

The only rough part is parking. The lot is a little small and street parking is not abundant. Be prepared either to wait or walk.

We went to Cabalar as a family of five for Valentines Day! The young man who greeted us and took our orders was very kind and welcoming. The melt was delicious! Best burger I ever had! My son also enjoyed the beef tallow fries! We highly recommend.
