Wonderful service. Server was helpful in ordering and explaining the dishes. Good ambiance and dishes came fast. White truffle pasta was do flavorful. Chicken was well seasoned and not dry. The pizza crust was delicious and the toppings – finnochia salami, mushroom, basil, and mozzarella cheese were well balanced. I also like how it’s open quite late

La Pizza & La Pasta is located on the third floor of Eataly, just off of their main grocery area. It is an extremely popular place for families, with a large dining area and some high top/bar seating. Note- because of the children and size of the restaurant, it can get extremely busy and loud so if that’s not what you’re looking for you may want to look elsewhere. That said, the food is absolutely fantastic. Highly would recommend making a reservation, although they do accept walk-ins, but you may be waiting for upwards of an hour. Maria was our waitress who was absolutely exceptional (thank you for making it such a wonderful experience!). To start, we got the fried calamari and zucchini with lemon and aïoli, which was great. The zucchini did get a little soggy by nature, but it was still delicious. Additionally we got one of their focaccia loaves which is topped with flaky sea salt and accompanied by amazing olive oil. Great for sharing (or not). We opted for pasta during our dinner, which is fantastic since they have both a fresh pasta section as well as Italian-imported dry pasta available. The maltaglaiti alla norcina was great, with the fresh spinach sheet pasta that is easily ripped. Topped with sausage, mushroom, and truffle butter, it’s a decadent dish. The tagliatelle al ragú toscano was a large portion of fresh pasta with pork and beef sauce, roasted squash, fried rosemary and white truffle (this is a MEAT sauce despite how it’s written). For a classic, the tagliatelle alla bolognese is a great dish. The lasagna Emiliana was great but a smaller portion than the heaping fresh pastas of the other dishes, but classic and delicious. Wines are a plenty and great selection since they’re pulling from their extensive Italian wine shop downstairs. Great food worth the loud environment, just know what you’re getting in to.

Benjamin was the best server I’ve ever had in my entire life. He was relatable, funny and very charming would recommend to anyone. He made my friend’s birthday the best birthday of all time he was cooking pasta at the table. He was going crazy thanks for the great experience Benjamin will come again. Food was good too.

$24 + tax + tip for dry sauceless plain testing butternut squash walnut ravioli. The walnuts? 3 pieces sprinkled on. The butternut squash filling was decent but would’ve been better if they weren’t such misers about it. Why there was no outer sauce is beyond me. No additional salt/pepper/cheese offered for additional garnish. Portion size? Don’t even get me started, I’m not a big eater but what is essentially an expensive singular dish, to only get like 8 pieces of the thinnest ravioli was an absolute joke. It also did not taste fresh, rather as if it was poorly reheated with a microwave as it did seem cold in some parts. Also kept getting pushed to get more food on a very overpriced menu for a casual restaurant. No bread or anything for the table… but it’s available for an additional $10 :/. Save your money and go to Olive Garden, this is terrible pasta. Will not go back.

Came here with two friends and our servers kenny and Lauren were the best. They were so kind and lively. Kenny was extremely helpful and made things very comfortable. He was super talkative and guided us through our menu. They both checked in on us regularly. The food itself was good.

We had a great experience at La Pizza and La Pasta. The food was very tasty. We enjoyed the pastas as well as the pizzas. I had the mushroom pasta, which was delicious. The bruschetta was a little underwhelming, and it felt very dry. The salad dressings were also nice.

The authenticity of the food here is quite impressive and the rooftop seating on a warm sunny day is one to experience. Wood fire pizzas had the perfect crunch to them and the pasta was a little too saucy, but still delicious. It has a great balance of food and drink (including wine) items, nothing that’s too overwhelming. Our server, Paris, was amazing and we can’t wait to come back soon.

EDIT 10/23/25: We went back to La Pizza & La Pasta on 10/2 after getting a personal invitation back from Robert, the restaurant manager. The experience was a night and day difference, with excellent food and great service. We tried both tried seasonal specialty dishes from the menu (highlighted items on menu), at our server’s recommendation and were not disappointed.
We really enjoyed the food and will likely come back again to try their pizza.
Original review from 9/10:
Went to this place once before and thought it was OK but overpriced for what you get… We went back tonight for the Taste of Napoli prix-fixe menu……
I had made a reservation for dinner specifically for this special menu (it asks when making the reservation).
Waiter comes and asks if we’re ready and we told him we wanted to do that prix-fixe menu and went ahead and ordered “small bites” from the menu while making our choices of antipasti and pasta.
Waiter comes back and takes our order.
He then says they don’t have the one (most popular) pasta I was going to order (despite them specifically taking reservations for this “special event”!)… This should have been stated when they pulled up our reservation or when the waiter first seated us.
Our first appetizer and one antipasti are brought out while we are still waiting on drinks.
Our drinks finally show up along with the other food, minus one more appetizer.
Our water ran low and despite visiting the tables less than a foot away from our table and refilling their water, our waiter didn’t bother to refill ours until we were almost done with our meal.
The pasta I swapped to from the special Napoli prix-fixe menu was brought out and it was basically an undercooked spaghetti that an amateur cook could have done better at, with barely enough sauce on it, and no cheese was offered even though we saw fresh ground cheese offered to other customers. I asked one of the staff for cheese and they brought it over.
Meanwhile…. Between courses, our waiter had taken away our silverware and said he’d bring over more…. Our pasta dishes were brought out and we were still missing silverware! We got it only after I flagged him down to bring it over.
The after we finished, we tried to order a special Gelato dessert advertised at every table on a small card…. We were told that they were out of it and the waiter walked away.
He came back and I asked if they were out of all the Gelato or just that one… He told us that they weren’t actually out of it, but that it’s made to order and nobody on shift knew how to do it….. After our meal we went to the Gelato bar on the first floor and they had a wide selection of Gelato other INCLUDING the one that the restaurant didn’t have!
The “Taste of Napoli” experience is a total dud when they’re our of items and what they do have is sub par, there’s not actually even really any entree options in the selection (except the one they were out of) and the service was absolutely terrible.
Will not be coming back here again.
With so much good food available in the bay area this is not a place worth wasting money on.
(I want to point out further that the waiter specifically left us a card with a QR code asking us to leave a review!)

I ordered 2 kids meals and pizza margarita. It was thin crust like in Italy. Also they offer gluten free options and ask about allergies before ordering. That was very helpful because my daughter has celiac.

My sisters and I took the pizza cooking class and it was a very memorable experience. I had never made pizza before and the chef was very patient and kind with all of us. Our server Manuel was amazing as well, very attentive and helpful. We stayed after for some dessert and Manuel was personable and gave us some delicious options. Overall a great experience. We definitely plan on making another trip for the pasta cooking class!
