The young girl working the check out cash at around 5:30pm was pretty rude and made me feel like I was a nuisance for simply picking up a prepaid order, all she had to do was hand it to me, but couldn’t do that without an attitude or smile I guess.
I get home (40 minutes away) and am HALFWAY through eating my poutine to only nearly eat a STAPLE that was very bent and clearly cooked into the food and is not really something you ever want to find while eating… of all things.
Given the lack of responses to other food related issues posted here, I am concerned about their food handling and health and safety practices and am pretty turned off to going back. Which is very unfortunate as I love the food here 🙁
Stop reading this review and just go in and give them a try!
Every time I go to this place, they make the food with so much pride. They do good with those portions. They actually put the ketchup and vinegar without feeling that you have to bug the waitress for two seconds but no, they’re on it.
Thank you Burger world for making a safe place where a mother could sit and have a meal with her kids ❤️
Here’s a picture of the food I ordered, a chicken Caesar wrap with the poutine (with bacon)
Also the only reason why I gave it 4 stars it’s because I do find it expensive but I guess we’re going for quality.
Maybe if they had fountain drinks, their meals would come with drinks,?? but everything is separate all because they have bottles.
Meals do not come with beverage but their breakfast comes with coffee as far as I know, in the end after eating their your belly feels full. And your around family people.
I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding an experience my family and I had today at Burger World on Algonquin.
This was our first time dining at this location. While seated, we were positioned behind a booth of three women whose conversation quickly became openly racist and derogatory. They made repeated negative remarks about Brown people, Indigenous people, and Black people — including comments about hygiene, appearance, names, and harmful stereotypes about receiving “free” benefits and “taking tax money.” The language and tone were offensive and dehumanizing.
These comments were made loudly and clearly within a public dining area. My husband, who is African, and I, who am Indigenous, had walked directly past this table before sitting down. The volume and persistence of the conversation made it impossible not to hear. This continued for approximately thirty minutes while we waited for our food.
After enduring repeated racist remarks, I addressed the individuals directly and expressed that their comments were unacceptable and offensive. The interaction escalated verbally. A manager (a woman wearing glasses) approached and asked both parties to stop, stating we were disturbing other guests — which I understand.
However, what followed was extremely concerning. The manager then spent approximately ten minutes at our table emphasizing that she personally knew the family involved and that they had “mixed children” in their family. She repeatedly stated she was not taking sides, yet focused heavily on defending them and suggesting we should not have been listening to their “private conversation.”
It is important to note this occurred in a public dining space where the conversation was loud and ongoing. Suggesting we were at fault for hearing repeated racist remarks is dismissive and inappropriate. At no point did the manager apologize for the experience, acknowledge the harm caused, or express that such comments are not tolerated in the establishment.
We ultimately chose to leave because it became clear that our concerns were not being validated and that the situation would not be handled appropriately. The only apology we received was from the cashier when we paid.
As an Indigenous, mixed-race family in 2026, this experience was unacceptable. Public spaces should be safe and respectful for everyone. I am disappointed not only by the behavior of the individuals involved, but by the lack of meaningful response from management.
I hope this matter is taken seriously.
Wow you can’t beat the service here. Always checking in to make sure that your coffee or water is topped off. Making sure that everything is fine. Super job!
