I have no idea why it has taken me so long to leave a review for this lovely establishment. We discovered Tona a few years ago and it has been our go-to Sushi restaurant ever since, and by far the best place in Utah. Our classic order of favs includes the tuna-pineapple, garlic edamame, green globe, red devil + lemon, shiso hot and the apple and ahi spoons. Their steak entree is also surprisingly delectable, so you can bring along your non-sushi eating friends and they’ll still be wildly happy as well. We’ve tried other specials and entrees and the cuts of fish never disappoint. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. I leave having eaten a couple pounds of fish but feeling wonderful and light as a feather. We love you Tona!!

I think the rest of the reviews tell the whole story. I have eaten at all the other local places and had success with sushi in Ogden. However, after eating at Tona, it’s clear that this place is superior to the others. The price shows, but it worth it to treat yourself every so often.

The sushi and service are amazing here. Our waiter Wes was awesome and was super accommodating for us. I’ve been coming here regularly for the past 6 years and it’s better each time I go.

By far the best local sushi spot in Davis/Weber county!! From the appetizers, rolls, desserts and extras! Very flavorful! It’s always great service! You’re lucky if you get CINDY, she’s the one of the best!! Make sure you take the time and stop to and grab a bite to eat you will not regret it!!

Tona has by far the best sushi in the state! Nothing ever comes close to the wonderful atmosphere, service, and the outstanding flavors of the dishes they offer! We have never been disappointed in the 12 years we have been going to Tona! It is so unique and nothing like anything else around! It is in my top 2 favorite places to eat!

I was impressed with Tona. I ordered the Escolar-Cilantro roll. I was impressed with the presentation and rank it one of the best I have seen. The roll was very good and fresh. The atmosphere was elegant and the server was good. One of the best sushi places I have been to.

Freshest tasting sushi in the whole state. They must have some magic portal straight to the sea since it’s truly unlike any other sushi bar in Utah. The variety isn’t as large as others but it keeps their quality high

I can’t think of anywhere in Utah that I’ve had better sushi. Everything we ate was incredible. Pricey, but so worth it. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed watching the chefs work. Great service and atmosphere as well. But a long wait, so I will call ahead next time to get on the waitlist before we arrive.

If there’s a hidden portal to another dimension of flavor, we found it in the heart of Ogden, Utah. Stumbling upon this sushi restaurant was like discovering an uncharted star in the galaxy—completely unexpected, yet illuminating in every way.

We began with an oyster shooter—a celestial explosion of briny freshness, balanced with a touch of citrus and spice, as if the ocean itself whispered its secrets into the glass. The gyoza were little pockets of pure bliss, pan-seared to perfection.

The yellowtail sashimi was a revelation—silky, buttery, and melting on the tongue like stardust. But then came the torched scallops, each bite igniting our taste buds with smoky richness, as if a shooting star had just blazed across the night sky. The chicken teriyaki was comfort food glazed in a sauce so perfectly balanced it defied the laws of taste physics.

But the highlight of the evening? The ahi and apple sashimi—a daring combination that transported us straight to the culinary stratosphere. The tart crispness of the apple against the velvety ahi created an otherworldly contrast we never knew we needed (which was recommended by our waitress).

For dessert the cheesecake so divine Smooth, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness—it was the perfect ending to a meal that defied gravity.

And while the food was out of this world, the service was equally stellar. Our waitress, Cindy, was nothing short of phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and radiating warmth. Meanwhile, the host, Emma B, had the toughest job but handled it with grace, offering water and complimentary drinks and snacks as we waited for our table during the restaurant’s peak hours.

This place is a top-tier, must-visit gem. A random find? Yes. But an unforgettable one. If you ever find yourself in Ogden, this sushi spot will take your taste buds to the stars and beyond.
