My family and I came in for dinner. There is five of us and four of them ordered nuggets. I ordered a McRib meal. We found our seat and our number got called which is unusual for this location. They didn’t put onion on the sandwich because they are out of them. Don’t worry about telling us when we ordered but okay the manager was awesome and brought some tiny ones to the table. I took one bite of this McRib and that joker was raw and I don’t mean undercooked I mean raw as in not cooked. I don’t leave reviews but this location stinks. Night shift is terrible the service the food the parking lot. Day shift is top notch here but boy that night shift ain’t worth eating at. We won’t come back for dinner. The manager on duty was fantastic. Suggestion= if you want McDonald’s drive to mount Vernon because the Salem location is absolutely terrible.

Horrible service. Came in drive-thru Friday May 23 at 9:35 PM. Ordered a 10 piece chicken nugget meal and a chicken sandwich deluxe meal. The girl gave me my drink which was supposed to be a coke. It tasted like diet coke. I told her and she told me she mixed it up with her drink and she was only drinking diet now that she was on a diet. She gave me another drink that ends up tasting like diet as well. We get down the road and we had a spicy mcchicken with cheese instead of the 10 piece chicken nuggets. The fries were salty. My girlfriend was afraid to drink her high c orange drink. No receipt given. We came in Sunday May 25, 2025 at approximately 6 PM to resolve the issue. The young manager told me she couldn’t replace the meals and she would get in trouble. She only gave us 1 drink and the 10 piece. I called McDonald’s customer service line and was given a ticket number. Extremely upset. Terrible service and got lied to! Do better.

Got the big breakfast with hotcakes, which is my favorite McDonald’s breakfast choice because of all the food you get for just $6.99. It comes with pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash brown, and a biscuit. The employees were nice and one of them helped take our picture. When we got here they were cleaning, which I appreciate because no one likes a dirty restaurant.

You have to believe me when I say I never write reviews. Never have. Never thought I would considering I work at a restaurant. I’ve never written a good or bad review. But this was genuinely insane. I pull up to the mic and rudely get asked “what do you want?” I didn’t even think much of it and went on with my order. It would’ve been nice if the person on the other side of the mic told me the first window closed at 8. Apparently? I’ve never heard of that before but maybe it does. Maybe it wasn’t working or maybe it was closed. I have no idea. But I sit there & wait at the first window for at least 5 minutes. Just patiently waiting, reading the sign on the first window about the penny shortage, (which would lead one to assume you pay there). Two people have seen me at this point. There is nobody infront of me but a line of cars behind me. Embarrassing. I wasn’t mad though, I understand being busy. But, seeing me and not telling me to pull forward is what gets me. The only reason I found out was by getting honked at which I did not deserve. I know I sound annoying, but I’m not exaggerating. I try to be as nice as possible in these situations and I was. Saying thank you every chance I got, because we are all just human trying to live in this world. This is genuinely the WORST McDonald’s I have ever, ever went to. Every single person there is so very rude. Every time I’ve been. I understand being a teenager at your first job. I get it. I really do. But please have the decency to treat me like a human. Any other location would say “Thank you.” Or “You’re welcome.” This one doesn’t. Never does. Other locations treat you as a person! I get told the kindest things from the beautiful souls at Vandalia McDonald’s, plus the food is 10x better. Honestly only go to this place when I’m in need of food. (aka after a long, late shift with no dinner at home) Overall, ever experience I have had has been terrible. Let’s not forget to mention how there’s somehow always hair cooked into the chicken nuggets, but that’s a story for a different day.

By far the worst place to eat in salem, if you go through the drive through you will wait atleast 15 minutes. When you get to the second window to get your food you will see the female manager grabbing all over her co worker who im guessing is her girlfriend. Every worker has a phone in theyre hand and they will most likely get your order wrong causing you to have to either go back through and wait about 15 minutes minimum or just call it a loss

Ordered the number 2 and 9 meals and go no fries, no extra pickles and no sauce that we asked for. Was charged for the full meal as well. Burgers looked like they were just thrown into their containers. Definitely not worth almost $23

Fast stop off I 54. The restaurant is clean. Bathrooms are clean. It’s an easy enter and exit. Close to the on-ramp to get back on the road. Staff was cool. The food was quick and actually fresh. It’s a good stop if you need something quick in the area.

The food itself is usually fine, and I like most of the staff, but they consistently forget to put sauces in the bag. The last several times I’ve been through the drive thru and ordered chicken nuggets for my son and the new mcchicken strips for myself they’ve left one or both of our sauces out.

Its the freshness of the food is especially if I go in i want fresh food especially if im going to McDonald’s fish sandwich it need to be fresh fish is the kind of food need to be and it wasn’t freshly cooked it wasn’t. Tab warm isn’t fresh when its fluffy and heat comes out that means it’s fresh that tells you you made it fresh
