Chef Bo changed my life.
We saw this restaurant on TV this morning and decided to check it out. I am so thankful we did. All of our food was absolutely excellent. Such unique takes on so many things that worked so amazingly. Chef Bo needs a raise he is a genius. Our waitress was absolutely outstanding as well, so conversational and kind. This is my new favorite restaurant. here’s a pic of my delicious chicken and waffles and mac and cheese!

Our first time and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The food was amazing. If you never had sheep’s head fish come here and all I will say is, “Your Welcome” . The sweet potato grits creamy and good! The grilled pork chop and collards were yummy! Topped off with an amazing Strawberry Cake!

We had the king’s shrimp and grits, the chicken sandwich, and the buffalo meatloaf. We really enjoyed all three. The sweet potato grits were very good, kinda half mashed sweet potato and half grits. My cocktail was below average serving size, felt like a waste of $15.

OMG, so glad we pulled in her for dinner tonight. EVERYTHING on our plate(s) was EXCELLENT. If you’re not a collard greens person, you need to give them a try. (So Good) the cornbread is so light and flavorful and then add the honeybutter. The bison meatloaf is incredible. The garlic mashed potatoes are great too.
And to top it off, Chef Bo recommended his Hummingbird Cheesecake. INCREDIBLE!
Don’t pass up eating here when you’re in town.

The food was amazing! We got the BBQ sampler, everything was so tasteful & we got full quick. Chef Bo was amazing and visited us many times to check in & even brought us a sample of the pot roast, which my boyfriend LOVED! Our server Miranda was so sweet and attentive. And the Christmas decorations were so lovely. We had a great time and experience. We’ll be back for sure! ❤️

The one thing I love more than great food is great service & I got both at 44&King! A friend has recommended this restaurant many times and we made reservations while I was in town yesterday, 12/8. Our waitress, Brittany, was so great with an awesome personality & Chef Bo came out to our table to share about the featured soups because we were torn on which we’d order. We sampled the Mama’s vegetable soup and also the Daddy’s version – both were yummy! While Chef Bo was there, he answered questions we had about a few dishes to help us make our decisions. And let me tell you, I love a great culinary experience. He really cares about his craft & explained each dish we asked about (and was sure to come back out to check on us to see if we liked our meal – not just our table but other tables also). I ordered the bison meatloaf that comes with sweet tea collard greens (don’t knock it until you try it), garlic mash, and cornbread. SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! My table mates ordered the pot roast and smoked wings. We also got the Mac and cheese to share – everything was really exceptional. Food, service, decore, vibe…everything!!! I’ll be back in town in February for a meeting at CCU and can’t wait to dine at 44&King again – I already have a list of other dishes to try once I’m back in town. Oh and the Cinnabon cheesecake

Everything was amazing! The food was the best soul food we’ve ever had. The drinks were perfectly constructed with balanced yet distinct flavors. The service was attentive and friendly. And the atmosphere is lovely, with the screened porch, courtyard, and soft lighting. We had the pit sampler and fried chicken. All the meat was so tender and sauces were top notch. And don’t miss out on the sweet tea collard greens and sweet potato grits!

It’s funny because we were gonna go to friendlys for a fun late dinner and ice cream. Wow am I glad we changed our minds. This place is INCREDIBLE! Chef Bo is so friendly and you can tell he loves what he does and truly puts his all into the dishes. Not to mention how nice the outdoor area is and the all around decor of the restaurant.
