Located outside Lansing Michigan, this brewery served unique styles of beers along with a few ciders and meads.

They also serve a wide variety of food options including GF and Vegan.

We went in a Thursday night and we’re seated immediately. Our server Bella was super friendly and made a few beer suggestions for me as well. I had a flight of 5 beers and a cider. My favorite beer was their Sacred Maize…. a Peruvian Chicha Style beer.

We started with the Seoul Food Poutine which was crispy fries topped with braised beef, curds, fried egg and onions. Absolutely delicious but could have been hotter in temperature.

We split a GF Goat Cheese and sausage pizza. Unfortunately the first one they brought out was raw in the middle so we waited for a second one which was better but not great.

It might have been an off night for the kitchen but all in all a good variety of food options and interesting beers on tap.

I had a good time at Archival, the waitress was great, she answered the questions we had. Food was good. I had the dip flight that was really good it was a great start. I wasn’t a fan of the Philly steak sandwich not recommended for the price. The sesame Tuna Pad Thai was surprisingly amazing. The bar was slow on making drinks, but the waitress covered for them. The live music was amazing.

We’ve been coming to Archival for 2 years or so now and their current menu is so delicious. The pizza is fantastic and a great value. The cottage pie is the comfort food that I’m often craving in the fall and winter. And, their burgers and fish and chips are some of my favorites in the city. Not to mention the beer is great too! Very interesting styles and I don’t think I’ve ever had one that I didn’t like. Trivia nights on Thursdays are great fun as well. In the past when we first started coming here we had slower service occasionally, but that seems to have really improved in 2025 and I have had wonderful service everytime I’ve been there this year

Food and spirits were great and we got right in! It wast busy at all at 1:30 PM.

However, I think there were only two gals covering the whole restaurant, so service was slow but friendly. We waited about 30 minutes to get out drinks and another 30 to order. Was a 2 hour lunch for us. My husband noted that a lorge group that came in after us was served more quickly.

In the search for restaurants serving actual food scratch made food led us to try out this brewery. First off, the beers are pretty good. Well, actually really good. I’ve tried most over a few visits and only had a couple that weren’t my style. But that’s a preference thing. The food we have tried has all been great, from apps, pizzas, to entrees. There is a lot of outside seating if that’s your jam. The girls we’ve had for service have all been great and super friendly. It’s now in our regular rotation.

Ah, Archival Brewing, where the only thing more aged than the beer is the server’s ability to remember to mention that the salad is extra. Yes, my friends, the Caesar Salad (which I assumed came with the entree, as is customary in the Non-Goblin part of society) was a side quest. One that came with a price tag and zero heads-up. Surprise! It’s $5.00 to feel deceived.
Now, let’s talk about the vibe. Ever walked into a room and immediately felt like your hoodie lowered the property value? That’s Archival. The atmosphere oozed exclusive elitism, like we’d stumbled into a colonial reenactment hosted by trust fund kids. We were the unwashed masses. We were uncasked and uninvited.
The food? Meh. Not offensive, but certainly not memorable…unless you count the $17.50 loaded potato puffs that came with plain ketchup. Ketchup. Not even chipotle aioli or house-made garlic herb drizzle. No. A red squirt bottle from a truck stop diner. For seventeen dollars and fifty cents. I think one of the puffs blinked at me in shame.
I left full of regret, light in the wallet, and heavy with existential questions about who exactly this place is for. (Spoiler: Not me. Not you. Probably Chad in linen slacks.)
Would I return? Only if I were cosplaying as a 19th-century banker with a fondness for overpriced side greens and aristocratic ketchup.

Amber made our experience a 10/10! But…. We loved the food and the drinks too. The patio experience was divine. Looking out on a pollinator field and saw Monarch butterflies!!! It was so special. We had the Falafel burger and the French Dip which were wonderful. The truffle fries stole the show along with their house made ranch! Yum!!!! Can’t believe it took so long to check it out. Will be back!
