We’re The Abbey, we’ve been the premier steak house in Quincy, IL, since 1974. We are a family owned and operated restaurant that has a familiar, friendly staff and a loyal customer base that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. We offer steaks, burgers, seafood, small bites, a children’s menu, a full bar and much more. I’d like to personally invite you to stop by today and try one of our handcraft cocktails for yourself!
Steaks & beer served in an enduring American tavern with nostalgic decor, flat-screen TVs & a patio.

The Abbey is a very nice rustic feel kind of place. Gives off old town vibes. The food was prepared well and plated with care to give you the visual satisfaction of a great meal. The service staff were great especially since I visited with a large group of people. We are in the separate event room and were well taken care of. All of the appetizers we had were great (cheese sticks, nachos, stuffed mushrooms were excellent, and blooming onion was well season and perfectly cooked) My meal was very well prepared and plated. Cooked exactly as I ordered and expected. Would highly recommend this establishment.

We were staying overnight in Quincy Illinois and after driving all day along the Great River Rd,we wanted a nice dinner close to our hotel.
For some reason the reviews were not great but we decided to give The Abbey a try and we are glad we did! We were seated immediately . We explained to our server Sally they my wife is Gluten free and she was super helpful. They offer a nice menu with a wide variety of food options.
We started with their drink specials..a frozen vodka drink and a Redemption bourbon double. Prices were super cheap in our opinion.
My wife had the baby back ribs with mixed vegetables and they fell off the bone. Sauce was amazing.
I had their Surf and Turf special . Steak was cooked just right and the shrimp stuffed with crab meat were very good. Portions were huge and unfortunately we could not take anything home since we were staying at a hotel.
This is a family owned and operated that feels like home. Decor is really cool and definitely a place to stop in whether just for drinks, appetizers, burgers or steaks.

I’ve been coming to The Abbey for years, with not a single complaint. I stopped in last night for some loaded potato skins, and their pork chop ribeye (cajun style) special with one of their pumpkin espresso martinis….. it was all around one of the BEST meals I’ve had in a while (and I like to eat ). Thank you, Nick H for giving us great service!

It’s definitely a popular place in Quincy, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Chicken tenders were cooked too long, the breading and top layer of chicken was more like a crust from the cooking temp/time. Their blooming onion does not pull easily, I was constantly cutting pieces off with my knife. Dark ambience was nice. Good amount of TVs. Could use an extra bartender, she was busy all night so my service was a little slow because of it.

As a newcomer to the area, I kept hearing rave reviews about this place—so I had to check it out. And wow, it truly exceeded every expectation! The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, offering a variety of options and happily accommodating any dietary needs.
The food? Absolutely divine. I ordered one of the salmon dishes paired with a cocktail, and every bite and sip was perfection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the music adds the perfect touch without being overpowering.
This place is an absolute gem—I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Absolute amazing experience. Super friendly staff and COME WITH AN APPETITE! Because the mozzarella sticks are massive and the ribs are on point and fall right off the bone. I could barely walk out of the building because I was so full and we still took a container full of food home. Great food. Great service. Our new favorite place for couples night.

We ate at the bar, no wait. The appetizers were amazing and the biggest mozzarella sticks we have ever seen or ate. Food and drinks were delicious and will go back again.

What a crazy night. But they were open and we will take it. Took about 30 min to get seated which wasnt bad except they don’t really have a place to stand without being in the way. Our server, gosh I wish I remembered her name because she was superb!! I feel like it started with a K. But we were in the corner and I don’t here really well. She did an outstanding job. Our food with the subtraction of forgetting my slaw but I didnt tell because they were so busy was amazing

I’ve come here a couple times and every time the experience was great. I had myself a medium-rare swiss mushroom build-it burger, best burger I’ve had in a minute. The waiter topped off my tea without me needing to find anybody. Small hiccup at the start with seating problems, but they were very nice about it, and even waited long enough for a proper answer from the rest of the team before acting too quickly. 100% going back again when I have the time.

The food and service was excellent. We got there at 5 PM on a Saturday and got a table right away, soon after that there was a line out to the front door and the bar was full. Very popular place. Excluding drinks and tip I only spent $15 per person and it was more than enough food. My only complain would be the drink menu, which is not complete and has no prices. However, the server listed all of the beers on tap and it was $8 for 16 ounces.
