I dont know what is wrong with Texas restaurants and bland taste of things. For sure the fried rice tasted like Americanized parboiled rice (not a compliment). I ordered 2 take out boxes of the 14 dollar chicken and shrimp w/ fried rice. The rice was bland, somewhat fully cooked but tasted parboiled and not like the typical chinese fried rice with veggies and egg. I was not satisfied at all with the rice even with soy sauce because of what rice I think they may have used (the texture and taste). I managed to find one piece of an egg in there and about 2 vegetables. The brocolli was good because of the sauce(which wasn’t much) it was just a tad bit undercooked but for the most part this was the best thing on the plate overall the place was nice and clean and they were somewhat pleasant. It is a good store I think, but they need to take their time and do it the traditional way not rushing to get the customer their food, As it literally took only 2 mins (not kidding) for my order to be finished, and I could tell by the taste. The quality was not good standard, staple or anything. It tasted so bland as something that I may have rushed to cook while coming home from work. Bottom line 3 stars because the place was clean and they were kind of friendly. Overall I know not to come back or to maybe try something else on the menu perhaps
Came here hoping to get the corner style Chinese food, like you would get in Philly or NYC, and this was not it.
Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but I was disappointed.
The chicken, pork, and beef in all my dishes were sliced super thin, it was almost shredded.
The fried rice was on the blander side.
I had high hopes for the lo mein, but I think they cooked it too much that the noodles started breaking, and oddly, there were eggs in it, which was weird.
The fried chicken were battered style, not bad, but not what I was expecting.
2 soups, 3 entrees = $55
I recently visited Royal Chopstix, and I have to say, the Royal Chicken absolutely hit the spot. The flavor, texture, and portion size were all on point — easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a while.
What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every person I interacted with was friendly, kind, respectful, and genuinely caring, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find that combination of great food and great service, but Royal Chopstix truly delivers both.
I also had a fun little moment with the manager (the gentleman with glasses) — I told him how much I loved their fortune cookies, and he jokingly offered to sell me the entire tub for $12! I laughed and kindly declined, but it added a lighthearted touch to the visit that made it even more memorable.
Overall, Royal Chopstix is a place that combines excellent food, wonderful people, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!
This time I tried orange chicken.
Good portion size.
As usual fried rice lacks salt.

Ordered Kung Pao Chicken without rice. Good flavor. Large quantity. Slightly over sauced . Quick service.
We ordered wonton soup General Tso’s and Sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice. For the price which was $34 tax and all it was good!
