We were waited on as soon as we sat down. Food was fast, drinks were quicker! Thomas was a great server! Food is significantly better than when it was the Dive. Hot wings were great and well cooked! Atmosphere was welcoming and calm for a Friday at 6pm, love that it turns into more fun as the night goes on!

Found this place after a UNT football game. It’s behind some other restaurants I have tried in this area of Denton. Online pics made it look like a good place to eat. We got there mid afternoon and the place was pretty empty except for 10 people were playing Texas Holdem on three table in the middle of the restaurant weird. The place is good size with many tables and the long bar and outdoor patio with a view of a large pond. There were a few staff members two waitress and bartender and a lady running the poker tables. Order a beer before my meal and tried to sample several ciders but they were out weird for a Satuday. Order this burger pictured, it was large and was very good. After eating I tour inside and outside. Outside had a good look of a pond and a housing addition with large house on the opposite side of the pond. The patio wrapped around the back the the building with chairs and tables. In the very back was what could be a party area with a makeshift bar. But it was taking over with a bunch of junk and storage. There signs on the the wall that said no smoking but there was several people doing so. Food was good and this could be a great place of the hangout but the patio was a pits. And poker in a restaurant???? Would I come back ???

Absolutely horrible experience. Took our family here for lunch today, and they weren’t super busy, but seemed to only have one server. To preface, she did nothing wrong, and she said it was only her second day.

It took probably 10 minutes to get menus, and finally ordered our meals after being at our table for 30 minutes. We got our drinks promptly, although not the drink I ordered, and they were out of iced tea. In addition, I ordered a kids lemonade for my toddler, and the waitress wasn’t sure they had lemonade- I swear what they ended up giving him was diluted margarita mix- absolutely unacceptable. We ended up having to leave before even getting our food because we have two young kids and had been waiting for over an hour for our lunch.

This was our first time attempting to dine here, and definitely our last. We spoke to the table next to us and they were also waiting over an hour for their meals, and said they had been here before and constantly had issues with having items out of stock and long wait times. They even spoke to the manager during their meal, who seemed apologetic and embarrassed, and mentioned the owner has just become full time so is now seeing some issues with the restaurant.

Beautiful patio view wasted on a terrible restaurant. Listen to the 1 star reviews and avoid this place.

I came here for lunch and got really lucky because as it turns out, they just re-opened for lunchtime! I ordered the currywurst and as someone who really enjoys German food but very rarely gets a chance to eat it I thought it was the best one I’ve ever had! I also got a chance to meet the owner Flo and he was very personable and passionate about what he does. I definitely plan on coming back!

Stopped by Lake Haus and had a great experience. The buffalo chicken wrap was awesome and definitely something I would order again. The patio is a really nice place to sit and hang out. Our server Flo was super friendly and took great care of us. Great food great service and a great atmosphere.

“I ordered the lunch special chicken Caesar wrap and was impressed with the quick service. My order was ready in just 10 minutes, which was perfect for a lunch break. The portion size was big for a lunch special and definitely filling for the price. Overall, a great value and convenient option for a quick meal. Highly recommend it!”

Pictures don’t do service as to how completely awful and pitiful this place is. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon, we were the only people in the restaurant which should have been our first red flag.

Waitress was inattentive from the start, did not tell me how to find the beer menu and wasn’t super engaging.

We ordered fried pickles and a couple beers to start. The fried pickles came out very soggy and the beers were both flat. We ordered our entrees and were completely disappointed.

The Dive Burger has a burger patty, fried egg, and ham on it; it should be an extremely juicy burger that explodes with flavor. The thing was dry as all get out, patty was cooked unevenly, parts of the crust were burnt, and had zero seasoning. $3 up charge to get macaroni and cheese as a side (which is already ridiculous) and it was clearly a cup of microwave mac and cheese that tasted like plastic.

Chicken fried steak was also extremely unflavorful and the side of broccoli was also obviously bagged and frozen broccoli, of which it wasn’t even steamed or boiled to be warmed up. You can tell everything was just warmed in a microwave.

Perfect word to sum my entire experience up is BLAND. I regret going and will never spend my hard earned money with this place again. I regret having ever given someone a dollar for the sorry excuse of food I was served. Owners and staff should be ashamed.

So sad to see this place the way we did Friday night. My party of 3 was in line to be seated behind another gentleman waiting to be seated. A host/waitress finally came to the front to sit the gentleman in front of us, came back to get us and sit us at our table. When she sat us down she gave us menus and said “I’ll give you a min to look it over” but did NOT ask us what we wanted to drink, just walked away and was never seen again. We waited almost 15 mins and not one person came to our table. We even stopped looking the menu to look around the place. They were dead, maybe 15 customers total. I would understand if they were busy and we saw our waitress helping other customers but this lady that sat us down completely disappeared. One other worker who seemed to be working the bar area walked right past us and said nothing. This place was sad and depressing, no smiles no one saying hello. We felt like our business didn’t matter so we got up and left. We noticed the gentleman that was before us also decided to get up and walk out as he also was not served. Maybe our waitress was on a break but for a Friday evening at 5:30 with no service and place that was not busy was sad and we won’t be back. My suggestion to the owner of the place, go eat at a Marty Bs restaurant and talk to the owner Marty, he’s always walking around greeting his guest and ASK him how he makes all his restaurants so successful and TAKE his advice, because yours won’t stay open long with this type of business being ran.

I almost never leave one-star reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to share it for the sake of future diners.

We spent nearly three hours here with a large family group. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy—there was only one other table in our section—but service moved at an extremely slow pace from the beginning. There was a single waitress handling our entire area, and she was taking orders, running food, and bussing tables. She was polite and respectful throughout, but it was very clear she was understaffed and likely undertrained. This felt like a systemic issue rather than an individual failure.

The restaurant was out of multiple menu items, and this was communicated inconsistently. While taking our order, the waitress repeatedly had to leave to check what was actually available, and the answers changed mid-order. We were not given children’s menus when we sat down and assumed there wasn’t one, only to be told halfway through ordering that a kids’ menu did exist. Some of the items listed were things we had already been told were unavailable. That information would have been important upfront, especially with kids at the table.

Food came out at very different times. Some meals arrived so late that over half the table had already finished eating by the time the last dishes came out. I ordered the fish and chips, which lacked flavor, and my wife’s salad came out with buffalo chicken instead of the lemon pepper chicken listed on the menu. At that point, after waiting so long, we didn’t even bother asking for it to be corrected.

The checkout process was the most frustrating part of the night. Despite knowing in advance that we needed separate checks, everything was placed on one bill. Separating it afterward took a long time, items were repeatedly “found” that had been forgotten, and we were never shown the bill before paying. After paying, we waited another 10–15 minutes for receipts that never came until I had to stand near the kitchen to get someone’s attention. By then, we just wanted to leave.

There were positives: the atmosphere was great, the live music was excellent, the bathrooms were very clean, and the tartar sauce, fried pickles, and stuffed jalapeños were genuinely good. That’s what made the experience so disappointing—there’s clearly potential here.

To be clear, I’m not blaming the server herself. Serving a large party is difficult, and she was doing far too many jobs at once. But even allowing generous grace for a large group, there’s no reasonable explanation for it taking nearly two hours just to get orders taken and fully delivered. The service issues completely overshadowed everything else and make it hard to justify returning unless there are significant improvements in staffing, training, and basic service flow.

Service was non-existent, food was mid, drinks were okay. Our waitress never brought us our drinks; we had to go to the bar to get them. On the reorder, we went to the bar. When the waitress did walk by, she didn’t stop to see if we needed anything, she didn’t stop at any of the tables. All the tables around us just started cleaning their tables, and getting their own drinks. Sooo much potential with this location. Too bad.
