After stumbling upon photos of their infamous 2 foot hot dog online, we traveled quite a way to try this place out! The restaurant itself is full of charm- you can’t help but smile when you walk in. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. While the menu has many good options to choose from, we opted for the dogs! They were not only delicious but entertaining and enjoyable to eat overall. The whole experience left us smiling (and very full)! Thank you Doogie’s-totally worth the drive and will definitely be back!

I went here with my family for lunch over the weekend. I’ve been here a couple times before, but many years ago, and it was nice for my son to be able to experience it. We told my son about the first time we ever went here I was pregnant with him and Grandpa took us and ate a whole 2 foot long hot dog like it was nothing, and it was one of the few places I ate at when I was pregnant that I wasn’t sick after which was rare. My son decided to take after grandpa and try for the 2 foot long hot dog with chili and cheese and he ate every bite, he has the hunger of a teenage boy.
This place is small and cozy, you might get a table, the turnover is fast (seat yourself), there’s picnic tables outside or you can take it to go. We were able to sit inside. Service is great, fast, and polite. Prices are reasonable and the food is filling and worth the value. It’s so nice that this place has been around for over 100 years. I got the tenders and chili cheese fries which were delicious and crispy, and their honey mustard was top notch. Husband got fries and a chili kraut dog and was also happy with the meal. It’s also really fun that the man vs food guy was here and they even have his order as a part of the menu now. You can even go online and see on YouTube and Tiktok some of the people who have tried the challenge of 2 24″ hot dogs, fries and a drink in 20 minutes, it’s fun to watch and a great place to check out if you have never been

Hot dogs sold here, from 10 inches to two feet long. Get them plain or with various toppings — kraut, chili, cheese, etc. Among the condiments is an especially good hot relish (my favorite). Burgers, fries, and fried seafood items are on the menu as well, but I go for the hot dogs.

The decor and ambient music are 50s oldies –45 RPM records line the walls. The staff work to be able to address returning customers by name, a nice touch.

Got an appetite and a capacity for an eating challenge? See the ads on the walls for what you’d need to pack away quickly to get your photo on the winners wall.

The place doesn’t look like much from the outside or honestly on the inside either. What I can say is that the food is cooked fresh and the staff is very friendly. I ate there twice. The first was a 10-inch hot dog with fries and a free drink. The hotdog had a nice crunch to it. The second time, I had chicken Philly sandwich with peppers and onions, and I chose melted cheese sauce. It is a little pricey, in my opinion, but I think it is worth it. Tuesdays is a 2ft hot dog with free fries and drink. It seems popular as it was a busy Tuesday. It is a great meal to share. I will definitely go back when I’m in time.

(Last visited August 24, 2023) Wife was craving a cheesesteak and we ride by this place called Doogie’s almost every time we come south on the Berlin Turnpike. So today, we decided to try them out and see why they’ve been in business for so long!

Atmosphere/Appearance: It’s very simple. No frills, just a brightly lit dining room, very colorful and decorated with memorabilia of events that have occurred here throughout time. It was lively and I can here the kitchen enjoying themselves in the back. Lol.

Service: It’s pretty straightforward. You go to the counter, you order then you sit down until they bring it out to you. No big deal. The people were friendly though.

Food: Of course… I got the 2-Foot Long Man Vs. Food Hotdog with some sweet potato fries. The fries were straight. Crispy, crinkle cut and nothing crazy. They could’ve used some salt. Now for the hotdog. They are a mixture of beef and pork. On it is chili, cheese, onion, peppers and bacon. This sounds absolutely perfect. The flavors were comforting and reminded me of hotdogs from my childhood. The dog didn’t have the “snap” from the casing that I really like, but eh. So be it. The chili was standard and all worked together. I liked how the bread was lightly toasted on the outside while the inside was still soft. This was one of the better hotdogs I have had in a while to be honest. I also got to try their cheesesteak which is 100% angus beef (unsure of the cut). On it is American cheese, peppers, onions and mushrooms. It was delightful! Very flavorful, but could’ve used more salt, more cheese and a little more heat on the meat for the Maillard reaction to create that umami flavor. However, on my second bite I had a better ratio of ingredients and it was much better.

Value: My 2-Foot Long Man Vs. Food Hotdog costed me $21.00. the 12″ cheesesteak was $19.99. This stuff isn’t cheap anymore, but… you do get sizeable portions and high quality food. It’s totally worth it.

In conclusion, we loved it here, it’s just not the healthiest food so we don’t frequent. We have been here multiple times though and I do recommend this place! Check it out if you’re in the area or are up to tackle their 4-Foot Hotdog Challenge where you eat 2 2-foot longs, some fries and other stuff. Lol.

I ordered a Coney, thinking i was getting a dog dressed up like a Coney Island dog. It had the same toppings but they fell way short. The dog and bun is good. The chilli is not good, the onions were raw, (hoping to get the onions like Coney Island and on a New York cart) the ones simmered in tomato sauce.
Nice place but it baffles me to why have a sign posted that says everyone is welcomed, yet its on a LGBTQ MiddleEast flag.
If everyone is welcome then just say that!

I usually stop by once a year when I fly in to visit family. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. The only downside for me is the price for a hotdog seems a little bit high, however it is unique and I don’t mind paying since I enjoy what they offer and it tastes great!

Great hot dog spot with tons of toppings, and lots of other food options, not just hot dogs. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere is 60s themed but fast food looking – could probably have a more restaurant-ish 60s theme that would look a little nicer. Loved the hot dogs and the sweet relish is delish. Reasonably priced. Tables all had stacks of old Trivial Pursuit cards, which was cute to do while waiting for your food. Will def stop here again when in the area.

I like Doogie,’s menu, I like the seafood options, I like some of the other options, they used to offer BBQ pulled pork sandwiches that I liked, still though, lots of options. I’m not a huge fan of their claim to fame hot dogs though, they’re good not great. They use Grote & Weigel Natural Casing hot dogs, inferior to other local brands. I had a coney island dog and Ruben dog. Both were OK. The chili tastes like Hummel from a can. All the tables inside were taken so they definitely have their following. I’ll still stop in for Lunch occasionally for some fried and fresh seafood, however, I’ll still get my famous dogs in New Britain.
