I was very impressed with everything overall. Each entree I had from the buffet had good taste. I really enjoyed the tandoori chicken, Chicken 65 and masala. The only issue I had was it was tough to get some items replenished as they were pretty busy and admittedly short staffed. Not really an issue but I’d would have loved some more chicken 65!
The service was great. Very friendly people and they were trying to keep up with the crowd. I believe there was a festival or something in the area. One gentleman it was his first day but he was hustling!
Not really sure why the negative reviews. The buffet price is reasonable honestly. Most Indian dishes I had average $14-18 so this is honestly a great deal at $21.99 for all you can eat!
Only thing I’d change is the place of plates and utensils. I believe they should be at the start of the line vs the middle. Would allow for a better traffic flow.
I was surprised with the variety of dishes this restaurant has to offer with utmost authenticity. The food here is amazing so is the service, especially the staters are to die for with right amount of spice and aromatic flavours! We are definitely coming back to Dakshin grill down soon. Thanks for your amazing hospitality.
Beyond the buffet, Dakshin also offers a delightful breakfast spread with classics like soft idlis, comforting pongal, and crispy medhu vadas, served with an array of delicious chutneys. To complete the experience, their mango lassi is an absolute favorite—a rich, creamy, and refreshing treat that perfectly balances the bold flavors of the meal. The spread is thoughtfully curated, and the authenticity of the dishes shines through, making Dakshin a prime destination for those craving a hearty and flavorful South and North Indian feast.
We started with the samosas. I forgot to take a picture, but the order only came with two. That was fine for us, but be aware of with a group.
Next we ordered our mains. I had medium spice Chicken Tikka Masala. It had a pleasant spiciness and the flavor was beautiful. My wife ordered the Palak Paneer which was the best thing we had all night. So smooth, so creamy, so delicious. A must try when you visit. We also shared some garlic naan and a Lamb Biryani. The lamb biryani was also very good and had a nice complexity of flavors.
We wanted to try their Lassi’s but they told us they were out of the ingredients to make it. Quite disappointing, but I will try again next time.
This was our first experience with Indian cuisine in Charlotte, and it did not disappoint. I would say come by and give it a shot, if only to try the Palak Paneer. Truly excellent, and one of the best I have had around the world.
