Our waiter was excellent—helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed the Surf and Turf, Fish and Chips, French Onion Soup, and Chicken Tenders. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d highly recommend Rio Grand Steakhouse to anyone looking for a quality dining experience with exceptional service.
– Dish: Grand Burger with American Cheese – $18. The burger patty is half pound and you CAN get a double making it a full pound if beef for another $5. I ordered it medium and it was maybe a touch above that, but excellent! The seasoning gave it a very slight Texas twang and hearty flavor.
The toppings were good, thought the lettuce was a touch limp. It was well balanced overall and the bun was a great texture. The side of mayo let’s you decide how much you put on.
– Side: Fries. These are on my top ten list of fries (maybe top five). They are about the way I’d choose to make them (if I could cook this good). The batter and seasoning were spot on. The skin left on the potatoes was light enough to be noticed for a good texture, but not overly. And the soft interior was amazing.
The burger was $18 with the fries which is on the higher end of a standard burger, but is a half pound patty. Maybe needs a few more fries to justify the cost, but the rest of the experience makes up for this, too. I’m on the fence with the cost.
– Side: Bread and Butter. The butter was soft and standard. The bread had a tough and slightly thicker crust, but a full and soft inside that was hearty but good soft bread flavor (stuck on adjectives on this one). Not soft and sweet like some steakhouses, but good quality.
– Service: The server we had was always attentive, cheerful, helpful, and everything you needed. Everyone was on their game and super awesome! My burger was on my table in less than 10 minutes after ordering.
I think the one major flaw I had with this restaurant was researching prices ahead of time. The website had all their menu items, but no prices. No one had posted a recent copy of their menu on Google Maps or anywhere else. I am posting it here for your benefit.
– Atmosphere: They have two sides. One with TVs and one as a quieter restaurant feel. We chose the quiet side. It had a higher class Texas class. Everything was in its place and clean. I even saw someone (a manager?) walking around inspecting things. This place allows for casual, but is careful to pay attention to detail.
They also have seating outside with a wonderful view of the Grand River! You can sit outside or on an enclosed deck.
– Conclusion: I recommend them more for the service, but the burger and fries were still amazing, too.
