Travail is a top rated MN restaurant in our household! Pricey – but worth it. We’ve been here twice and most recently we did their regular tasting menu, but plan to come back for one of their themed events. The food by itself is amazing but the drinks and interactive experiences make it an over the top experience. Best this time around was the fish hook to grab a delicious cured meat and the guessing games to win various prizes were also fun. We had a punch drink of some sort (wish I could remember the name but they do also seem to switch them up) that was out of this world and the short rib course was incredible. Apparently through the end of the year they were doing inclusive drinks with food, which was so fun because we got to try a few different drinks on the house. The upstairs bar is also fun and they play some great music. They have only a few tables on the main floor, including the one we sat at in the kitchen, so you’ll sit with other people but its not too crowded and still manages to feel semi-private. 5/5 stars, we will be returning!

We had a wonderful experience the first time we went so we thought hey they have “Duck & Wagyu winter Feast” in their Sky lounge let’s give it a try this time

Oh man from the moment we got our seats they started serving a peice of prosciutto we had to grab with our mouths. Don’t even get me started with that lol he had a stick with a large hook along with a peice of prosciutto on it. Ummmm the hook touched peoples mouths, cheek and hair lol I was definitely not participating in that shit. Everyone thought it was fun but hell to the no!

Food was not worth the money, it came with drink pairing aswell. Duck was tough and dishes were not good. I believe I enjoyed 1 dish and that wasn’t Duck or Wagyu was so disappointing when that’s what we went for. I’d also like to the mention if I’m at a tasting menu event I expect changed silverware each dish. Maybe it me but I’ve never been to a place where they didn’t do that. Like how do you expect me to taste the food properly am I supposed to lick my spoon and knife clean before you bring another dish?

I’m not don’t yet. The sky lounge was extremely hot I had the heater above me so I was baking!

Over all the customer service was amazing everyone was really nice and helpful turning off the heat. Unfortunately other people were cold so it had to be turned back on which I understand but man try to enjoy a dinner under a heater.

The reviews will never do this place justice. You HAVE to come here and experience it for yourself.
The food and drinks are the star of the show here. The creativity, exploration, presentation are unmatched. The chefs are creative, risky, and constantly evolving to keep this restaurant fun and relevant. I feel like every experience is different.
The private dinning experience on the top floor is especially elevated. Private chefs prepare all your dishes in front of you and they explain everything about the process and what’s in each dish.
Highly recommend

Amazing dinner experience the chefs are all so personable, you feel like you’re the only ones at the table. Super thoughtful menu with fun little stories behind every meal! An espresso martini isn’t on the drink menu, but the bartender said “I got you” when I told him that I wanted one 10/10!! Such a fun date night!!

10/10 would recommend. The staff was attentive and the chef was amazing – he had a good rapport with the guests and was accommodating to a change in one of the menu items for us. Everything on the tasting menu was delicious. They did a few guessing games throughout the evening where one we could win a bottle of wine, which was a fun twist. The drink menu was all inclusive and the old fashioned was very well done.

We had reservations on a Friday night. I thought I reserved for the chefs duel but it was more of a multi course meal. The service was great and everyone acknowledged we came for a birthday. Drinks are included which I didn’t realize so I pre ordered a wine tasting pair. The drinks kept coming and the food kept rolling. Loved the seating and the open atmosphere. There’s also a bar upstairs. The parking was easy and overall it was just a fun and eventful night with plenty of food and drinks. All of the plates were unique and we played games and tried different foods. Everyone at the table was so nice and it was just a good vibe. It was more on the casual side and I was looking for something a bit more upscale but we still had a great time and celebrated!

Went for the 1st time on a Wednesday night with a group of 5 guys who enjoy a good culinary dining experience. Travail was recommended to us by a local food critic. It did not disappoint! We chose the dueling decades dinner option. Impeccable service and attention to detail. Fun and tantalizing courses. Licked every plate clean. We had Dom as our chef, Evan as our Sommelier, and Aminah as our attendant. They set the bar sky high. Can’t wait to go back! Well done and kudos Travail!

This has been a bucket list night out for many years and I was shocked to be pretty… underwhelmed. We did the decade duel off, and the theme was not a hit to me. We were kind of lost in the complicated, over engineered theme set up and there wasn’t one dish that really stuck with us or blew us away which was disappointing based on the rave things I’ve heard about Travail’s courses meals. I would go again but would be very selective on the theme as based on my experience, not all hit the high bar!

Service was a bit disappointing too. We were served our plated bites but never asked if we wanted a drink, I finally asked and was able to get a glass of wine but would have thought the drink service and service in general would be more robust!

UPDATED: Jun 19th, 2025. Today, I went back with my wife for our anniversary, and we did the Duel theme, and it was delicious. I loved the theme. It was fast, and it was a lot for them, but they made it happen. The food was delicious. I did not like everything, such as the fajitas and the Happy Meal, but everything else was on point. It was definitely worth the money. The desserts were crazy good. I’m for sure coming back to try the Office theme.

Last year: Great place! Great experience! Delicious food! The customer service was outstanding, very welcoming. They gave us a complementary drink. It was very good. The cocktails were very well done. The chefs were nice and friendly. The food was simple to cook but fun! My steak was undercooked, so the chefs apologized. It wasn’t his fault because I cooked it. He offered to cook it for me, and it came out way better. Great service! I’m definitely coming back.
