Visited while in town for a car show. Arrived before they closed and they were happy to have us.
Service was fanatic. Yvette was amazing. The food was over the top good. Loved our pizza & baked zita which I ordered. Rolls were awesome.
I would highly recommend this spot and suggest you leave a rating to help others. It’s a nice gem of a spot … and we drove from the Fairgrounds to eat here.
As for our Server. She absolutely was horrible. At first I thought she was going to be good because she addressed our table immediately when we sat down. Took our drink order. Took her 10 minutes or more minutes to bring us our drinks. Simple tea and Pepsi. We could see her standing around. I went to the hostess and then turned around she was bringing our drinks. Apparently the Hostess said something to her because after that her attitude toward us showed that she was pissed.
I went up to request for dressing for our salad and she never acknowledged me. Then finally brought the dressing.
We received our food but she never came back to give us our ticket. Then I had to go to cash register to get my ticket. The Server Tisha (not sure of the spelling) was like oh you want your ticket. Like what the hell?
She never came back to our table because she was pissed off.
My suggestion. Do a better job and your customer won’t get aggravated with poor service. Tiesha knows she was in the wrong. If you cannot do better perhaps being a Server is not for you.
By the way the restaurant was NOT busy at all. My suggestion to those reading this.
And for the record Tiesha, had you done a better job I always tip 20% or more. That is because I know what it is like being a Server and as I mentioned I am also a Shift Manager.
Follow-up to this review. I spoke with the Manager Tiffany who was very nice and pleasant. She listened and told me she took my call serious and would be contacting the Owner. Tiffany stated they do not want to have a reputation like this.
We are not holding this against Angelos because the FOOD was awesome. The Server that we had was horrible.
I arrived about an hour before closing. There were a few tables occupied when I arrived. The decor of the restaurant is quite dated and I expected the bench seats in the booth to be worn and uncomfortable, but the one I sat in was very pleasant.
I ordered a cup of the soup of the day (cheeseburger.) it was good. I wouldn’t make a special trip for it but if it were offered I would eat it again.
I ordered two garlic balls. These are basically large dinner rolls drenched in garlic butter. Very good. I would point out that the entrees come with rolls, so you may not want to double up, but the garlicky balls were quite tasty.
For my entree, I was torn. I wanted the shrimp risotto, but I read some reviews and there were a number of detractors. I chose shrimp thermidor. I have had lobster Thermidor many times, but never seen this option.
The shrimp
Was perfectly cooked. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The spinach, tomato, and onion were just right. The sauce was delightful, but extremely rich. The portion was enormous. I ate about 20% of it and enjoyed each bite.
I had cinnamon roll cheesecake for dessert. Comparable to a cruise ship dessert. Ok. Nothing special.
My server was Kali. She was kind, helpful, and excellent at her craft.
I enjoyed my dinner and would go back.
Visit Angelo’s Family Pizza and Pasta. Tip like you mean it!
Pepsi flat ( 2 sips)
Salad veggies were not fresh they were flimsy/ old .. (1 bite)
Manicotti was completely tasteless (2 bites) attempted to use table seasonings BUT the shakers were caked in nasty (S&P as well as the Parmesan )
Burnt bread atop the French onion soup …
I’m still trying to figure out how this place is even open…. We left hungry and paid $60.00 Never again Angelo’s! The server tonight was the best thing about our visit, didn’t catch her name but she took notice to our attempt to gag down this NOT HOMEMADE ITALIAN FOOD !
