We ordered Large Maryland Blue Crabs. It was really very good. They set up the table just perfect for the crab. Crab deep was fantastic. We returned Mozzarella Sticks cause it didn’t taste fresh, not even hot. The waterfront location was beautiful. Though we didn’t sit outside, we could still enjoy the water. The server lady was sweet.

My first time visiting this spot. Definitely a good long drive to the country but worth it. The restaurant sits right on the water. The service was great from start to finish very friendly and welcoming staff. Good music playing throughout restaurant. Indoor/outdoor seating. Food and drinks came pretty quickly. The drinks we got were tasty and strong! Plenty of different food options on the menu. We’ll definitely be back. I definitely recommend you check this place out especially if you want to get away from the craziness of the usual city vibe.

In the area for work and this place was recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and being on the water with fabulous weather you can’t beat. The service wasn’t terrible but it was slow and the three I dealt with were not very engaging or have an inviting countenance about them.

We had the ayce buffet. It was great because you didn’t go to the buffet, they brought out what was on the menu fresh to you. If you’re a friec oyster locer, OMG!! They were so, so good and cooked to perfection. The entire meal was great. I have not been food happy in a long time. The buffet when they serve it is only on Fridays, 3-8. You may want to check for availability. I will be returning Enjoy!

Our final day trip of the summer lead us to Captain John’s Crab…at Cobb Island.
Enjoyed the view, enjoyed the apps and main courses as well. Decor could use an update. Long day with the summer traffic but glad we made the trip.

We stopped by here for some fresh local seafood. This place never disappoints me. We got hush puppies, crabs ,shrimp, and king crab legs. The ultimate feast is expensive but will fill you up. The crabs were well seasoned and tasted fantastic. The king crab legs were well seasoned and very easy to shell. The shrimp were the same and tasted good. The waitress was very attentive and keep the drinks and butter containers filled. We all left here fat and happy. 9 out of 10 starts

Was here for an event. Service was very good. Food was good, but portions for the price were well, not much food for what you spend. The atmosphere is no frills. Yes you are close to the water, but unless the weather is great and you can sit by the water, it is a long drive for what you get.

The Blue Crab here is absolutely delicious however, they put way too much salt on the crabs. Oh my goodness. I had to scrape it off with a butter knife and even then it made me think twice about the salt on the edge of my margarita glass, and next time I’ll get unsalted butter too.

The crab was wonderful but do yourself a favor and tell them to hold the salt. Especially if you have high blood pressure.

My wife had the crab cakes and they were also delicious. Overall a nice seafood restaurant experience but way, way too salty. Look closely at the photo and you’ll see all the salt.

I also felt the blue crab was a bit over priced.

Crawfish was bland not one sprinkle of seasoning. Liquid butter was cold. Mozzarella sticks was at least better than the crawfish, both appetizers. Seat yourself at 1130 which was not a problem and received food an hour later the appetizers. Finally received main course at about 1250ish. The broiled seafood platter was good. We still tipped pretty good but I will not be back and was not happy with a 150 tab with the quality of food. Disappointing

Since May of 2023, I have been in contact with Captain John’s Crab House because of several Facebook posts I have viewed. Then, of course, the AI algorithm of Facebook began to show posts and videos as folks posted them. I thought to myself on several occasions, “I have to get there myself to check thus place out and try the food for myself.” Several Facebook messages, and 4 months later, after a nuce week at work on a Friday night, my wife and I visited Captain John’s Crab House. Seating is 1st come 1st serve with seating outside as well on the patio overlooking the water. Yes, you guessed it. They do not make reservations! As we pulled into the crowded parking lot, I thought to myself, “We may have to visit another place.” However, we walked in and were seated almost immediately. They had a buffet bar selection as well as menu options. We chose the menu options as I wanted to try their oysters on the half shell, crab legs, shrimp, and, of course, their Maryland Blue Crabs. I am not a fan of salty food or seafood at all. Sometimes places use just a little too much Old Bay or JoJo’s Seafood seasoning. I don’t know what this family owned and operated seafood restaurant used to season their seafood with, however I can say to them, “Keep doing what you are doing and keep using what you are using!” The seafood was deliciously seasoned, tasty, and juicy! The oysters on the half shell tasted as if they just caught and shucked them. Full of flavor indeed! Needless to say, in the words of Arnold in the movie “The Terminator,” “I’ll Be Back!” I guess, in my case, we’ll be back because I know my wife will not let me enjoy such deliciousness by myself! I almost forgot, our server was on point and made EXCELLENT Long Island Ice Tea’s. Yes, I truly suggest you try one or more for yourself! I had three….
