We decided to have Chinese on Christmas Day. We waited 45 minutes for a table. However, Baskin Robbins was open next store. So we had dessert first before we were provided a table. Even though they were incredibly busy, all the wait staff were courteous and efficient. The menu noted that my dish was spicy. However, there was no spice to it at all. Our meals were hot, tasty, and presented well. They have a large menu. Overall, we enjoyed our mean we would try this place again when they are not as busy.

The waiter forgot to put in the order for my main dish, but did bring the appetizers I ordered. He gave me a free soup to make up for it. It didn’t take long for my main dish to come. The robot waiter was interesting to experience for the first. The food was decent.

This is a truly excellent establishment. Consistently serves delicious food and has great hot & sour soup. The Szechuan menu is a real treat and I highly recommend the ma po tofu(mix with chicken fried rice for transcendence), peanut chicken szechuan style, and aromatic garlic chicken. Lunch specials are great portions and price value. Dining area has a soothing warm atmosphere and even includes a cute robot who will deliver drinks. They also have their own delivery so delivery service is excellent every single time.

Fried rice was a good and average.
Chung Ching was pretty great. Very flavorful and spicy.
The Golden Chicken was interesting. Lots of fruits in there with a sweet sauce. The strawberry’s were very old though. Overall it was alright.
The hot and sour soup was good.
Pricing was fine for the portion sizes. And you do get a decent amount.

The service was excellent. The food Hunan beef was great. Sub Gum was good huge portions…our first visit and tried new dishes. The hot and sour soup was less spicy than expected, so was hunan dish BUT neither of us specified spice level next time and we will go back we would ask for more spice. We waited for about 5 minutes for a table for 2. We were waited on immediately. The Egg drop soup was piping hot and rich with flavor. Hot and sour was not warm enough it was replaced immediately with a new bowl that was steaming. Owner came to table to inquire about our food and spent time talking with us…delightful person.
This is a very demanding business…our 1st visit was great we will be back. Looking forward to great experiences in the future. Notices bags of take away food for families on this Sunday afternoon.

The best of the best food ever!!! You must try their food!! The plates shown is an egg roll and jasmine tea, I ordered the spicy mango chicken plate very delicious!!! Our server and the owner helped us a lot due to a peanut allergy. The owner and server accommodated us to enjoy our meals!! Thank you so much!!! We definitely will return soon!!!

I lived in Kalamazoo for few years. Had them deliver twice a week.
Then moved to Allegan and was in Kalamazoo a few times a month and called in a take out order!
We then moved to Middlebury Indiana and I do 99% of my business is done in Kalamazoo.
I always told people how fantastic the food was.
So October of 2024 I had told my husband and my neighbor about Gene the Pumpkin Man.
So I took them up and was so excited about taking them to Hunan’s.
Let’s just say how upset and disappointing it was. I called a few day’s later and spoke with Terry. He said next time in to call and he wanted to meet me.
So appointments always had us on other side of town. So yesterday 2/13/2026 stopped in and place my order and seen the one guy there that is always friendly. Told the lady that Terry said to ask for him. I did but was pretty much ignored. Place my order for my usual.
Let’s just say yesterday will be the last time ever again. My husband is not a great fan of Chinese food but loves beef ,chicken or pork Chow Mein. So order a quart of it, 2 egg rolls. Order of Crab Ragoon, my quart of Szechuan Chicken and of course a quart of beef fried rice.
So the pork chow mean was tasteless and like soup, watery.
The beef fried rice had very little beef and tasted like something had burned and wrecked the taste with this burnt taste and smell.
The Crab Ragoon was fried in old oil. Egg rolls were just cabbage with nothing else in them. Zero spices and fried in old oil.
I can say we were very disappointed and my husband said he would never eat there again.
But my history with them is also over with! I will never eat there again ever!

Best Chinese food ever! I live in Chicago (in the city) and this is better than anything, anywhere near me! I LOVE this place and come every time I’m in town to visit my mother. It’s fresh, not greasy, everything is super flavorful – it’s amazing cooking. It’s not the “usual Chinese takeout every brown sauce is the same, greasy type American-Chinese food”! And they have a lot of authentic Chinese food if that is your desire vs. American-Chinese food. IT’S THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN KZOO!!!!!

I got Shrimp Pad Thai from Hunan Gardens this week and it was DELICIOUS! So flavorful, moist, and plenty of shrimp and a generous portion. I always get 2 or 3 meals from one order and it warms up just beautifully. I’ve had dinner in and gotten take out there many times but haven’t thought to do a review. The food is always good and the wait staff are very prompt, friendly and efficient. Definitely on my small list of local restaurants that are on repeat for me.
