Where to begin? Well, first off, I’ll disclose this was my first time coming to Flaming Joe’s. The staff treated us very well throughout our visit. The other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves too; definitely a local spot which I can appreciate…

But the food. Here’s what we ordered:
– Hurricane (pricey for a small cocktail)
– Spicy Mango Margarita (tasty and refreshing)
– Garlic Parm Chargrilled Oysters (very pricey for such tiny oysters but they were tasty; when they’re completely covered in garlic butter, you can’t really go wrong, I guess)
– Fried Catfish Po Boy (salty batter but a nice size filet; ordered red beans and rice but they gave us fries by mistake, which they corrected)
– Combo (blackened snapper and fried Gator)…a few things I’ll need to break down with this:
— Need to start off by saying all the food was incredibly salty! It’s obvious management is not reading these reviews because this seems to be a recurring issue.
— The red beans and rice has pork in it, which is common in this style of food but should still be disclosed to customers. I reordered some “Fresh Vegetables” which definitely were frozen and literally had been sitting in a vat of butter. Horrible.
— Gator bites were undercooked in places
— Blackened snapper had a fishy taste to it, which means it was not fresh. Bad sign!

For all of this rather unpleasant food, the prices were insanely high. Everything has a premium price added on top of it. Our meal was over $100 which is incredible for a local seafood spot. Yes, the photos are good but misleading; the food was pretty bad.

Overall, we were very disappointed with our visit to Flaming Joes and don’t plan to return.

It was extremely good. Unfortunately, my po-boy had extremely hard bread. I could barely take a bite out of it. However, they apologized for the bread and gave me a discount. Everything else I ordered was delicious. So even though my bread was rather hard, I still highly recommend going here. The servers are nice and helpful, and their beer is great. They also give veteran discussions. So that is a massive plus in my book.

The store is clean, a bit different than other seafood place. Oyster were fresh and food came quick. I notice everything serve with the same dipping sauce. A but pricey for comparing to the quality of food I’m getting. The staffs are friendly, they also have option to buy drinks for kitchen staffs! Overall, good place if you’re around the area otherwise there are definitely better options out there.

Flaming Joes Seafood in Aurora.
To put it simply im never coming back again. I first tried them about 5 years ago and I had a decent experience from the food to the service. I brought my mom and step dad here about 2 years aho and I found out the quality of the food went down. The food took about an hour to be cooked and when we got it the Alligator was RAW (keep reading)! How do you bring out the food late in a restaurant that is not packed and have at least 3 cooks in the kitchen and STIL don’t cook the food fully?!

FAST forward to yesterday… I took my brother to go eat. I got the Ultimate Pho which was very underwhelming with crab shell being in the soup. The little shrimp they used tasted like they were just unfrozen and had a strong bagged salt water punch. The crab meat cheese wontons were made extremely inconsistently with some wontons having no filling at all. Some of the fried Okra was just part of the stem.

My brother got blackened aligator bites, blackened snapper, and Hush Puppies. The Hush puppies he liked but THE ALIGATOR BITES were Raw! (see last photo). I would not recommend going there to eat and if you do go there to eat already I suggest you set the bar higher and find a new seafood spot to eat at.

This place was descent. The atmosphere when you walk in fits the menu for the most part. The bartender wasn’t really that impressive at all when it came to making drinks or knowing what she had in stock. She almost charged me extra for a shot also and I’m not cheap. The food was good but the recommendation of the waitress that the food was really spicy wasn’t true for my taste buds. The waitress seemed to be nice but not sure how genuine the spicy remark really was. The best thing about this place was the cooking. The Crawfish is a must get and they come pre soaked in Cajun seasoning and then you choose your heat flavor. Even if you dont like crawfish I highly recommend trying it here. The head chef is Vietnamese from Louisiana so you can even get pho here (haven’t tried but will next time I’m eating in Aurora)

Let me just say the waitress (I believe her name was April) was probably the most pleasent and attentive waitress I’ve had in a looooong time which goes a long way nowadays. Got the Build your own feast with Fried gator and blackened catfish, the gator had really good flavor which is great because it’s hard to find in Denver outside of Pappadeaux and the catfish was really good. Loved the seasoned fries! The red beans and rice was a tad cold but honestly just a small thing. Will have to come back and try their pho!

I’ve Visited this place twice and I can say my experience has been okay.

The alcohol drinks are good. It’s kinda pricey.

My boil was okay however I do have critiques…

MORE BUTTER SAUCE!

I think you guys should consider adding the boil into bags.

my crab legs were kinda cold.

As you walk in you see this nasty fish tank.. clean that!

It doesn’t leave a good impression, especially for first time visitors.

other that the staff so far has been accommodating & friendly

an I look forward to coming back again and seeing improvements.

Pretty decent place! It’s nice to have a reasonably priced seafood place in these parts. I really enjoyed my Catfish poboy. The edamame wasn’t really anything special. For those who don’t like seafood, they do have some burgers and some non-fish options. All in all a great restaurant that I’d like to return to!

Hurricane Fish Bowl drink was definitely two person drink. We order the Gumbo,Chicken Fried Rice and Pasta with Blackened Chicken/Shrimp. Oh also had the French Bread which was soggy from too much butter! Food was good. We was seating quickly. I believe our server was (HI/HIGH) because he forgot things several times.A lady threw up by our table and it took them awhile to clean that up which sucked!! ‍♀️ Other than that it was a cool place to eat….

Good neighborhood seafood bar & grill. Very busy on the weekends, but the waiters work quickly to get your food out. Seafood boils are good, they give you extra seasonings to add if needed. Would visit again!

Took more than an hour to get out food, when it finally did come my seafood was bland and extremely over cooked. The butter sauce tasted burnt and I asked for spicy and there was no spice to it whatsoever. The server said that orders come on a first come first serve basis so the 20 to go orders take priority over customers actually sitting in the restaurant. After we got the food we were bothered about 8 times asking if everything was good now. It seems like they were trying really hard to make up for the long delay but it was honestly very frustrating.
