Most importantly, the service was excellent. If I’m back in Langley, I will definitely come agai
The menu reflects a strong commitment to authentic Italian flavors while incorporating a contemporary West Coast touch. The pasta dishes are particularly impressive — cooked perfectly al dente and paired with sauces that are rich, balanced, and clearly made from scratch. The wood-fired pizzas are another highlight, featuring a beautifully blistered crust with fresh, high-quality toppings that complement each other without overwhelming the base.
As the name suggests, the cheesebar is a signature feature. The curated selection of artisanal cheeses is thoughtfully presented and pairs wonderfully with house-made accompaniments. It adds a unique and elevated element to the dining experience, making it ideal for sharing. The wine list is well-developed, offering a strong range of Italian wines alongside accessible options that match the menu perfectly.
Service at the Langley location is attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. Staff members are confident in offering recommendations and ensuring guests feel well taken care of without being intrusive. The pacing between courses is well managed, allowing for a relaxed yet efficient dining experience.
While prices reflect the quality of ingredients and overall presentation, the value is justified. For Langley, it delivers an upscale yet approachable Italian experience that is consistent and memorable.
Overall, The Italian Osteria & Cheesebar in Langley is an excellent choice for date nights, family gatherings, or business dinners.
For pizza, we tried the “Don’t Tell Nonna,” which wasn’t too bad. I’d rate it a solid 7/10.
Their tiramisu cake was absolutely amazing — a perfect way to end the meal.
Service was a bit slow, and there were no check-ins on how the food was, nor were our napkins or waters refilled.
My coworker had the pasta on the cheese wheel and I had the lasagna. It was pretty neat to watch the pasta being prepared by first adding some brandy and the using a torch to heat and melt the cheese. Finally adding the already cooked pasta with lobster in and mixing it. It was quite rich but very tasty.
Myself I had the lasagna but it was cut like a slice of bread. It must have had 15 layers of noodles but not so much meat or sauce. It was tasty enough but lacked in meat, they added sauce around it. I would not order it again but I would order many of the other items from the menu. We had a very good meal. They did have two types of Cider but neither was Canadian, which there are many Ciders made it BC, I would have liked to have one.
The main issue was the value. The portion was quite small, especially for a $30+ price tag. You expect a bit more heartiness from an Italian spot at that price point! As for the service, it was fine—they did their jobs, but there wasn’t any “extra” hospitality or warmth to write home about.
Verdict: It’s worth a try if you’re in Langley, but don’t expect a gourmet step up from the big chains. It’s a similar experience, just with a higher bill
