They had a good selection of dishes and beers and margaritas. We ordered, she had the enchiladas (3) and I had the enchilada and tacos. The food came quickly and I asked for a bowl of their hottest salsa which I poured the whole bowl on my food. Honestly, given the outside, I wasn’t expecting much. Boy was I wrong. The salsa was very flavorful, even the extra hot one. The tacos were made the way I make them. The enchiladas were stuffed with meat (both of us had grilled chicken). It’s hard to say much about the refried beans and Spanish rice, except to say they too were very good. No spots where the beans had not been cooked enough and were rock hard or so mashed that it was more like bean paste and trust me I’ve had to endure both. No, these were cooked to perfection, as was the rice. And the hot salsa I asked for was delicious. It wasn’t burn your face off but it got my attention. All this to say, if you are looking for a taste of Mexico and are in the Grand Prairie area, you should treat yourself to the cuisine at Monterey’s Little Mexico.
I came back a couple of days later and got the same result. I then spoke to the manager and showed him all my proof of purchase. His solution was for me to keep track of the receipts and deduct it from the total of the cards. I did and left.
On the 3rd visit I spoke to the same manager and asked him why can’t he just issue me new cards to replace at least the one I haven’t used. I explained to him this isn’t how this is supposed to work. He told me that he didn’t really have to honor the cards. I told him with all the evidence I have that I bought the cards that he would look really bad. He then took my cards to try and fix them. I then sat down and ordered our food. We waited an hour and no food. I went up to the manager which was still working on my gift cards. I asked if something was wrong because we have been waiting an hour on our food. He laughed and said no you haven’t. I told him I don’t make this stuff up. I then asked him to return my cards that I wanted to leave. He then told me they were working on 20 to go orders, and that his people only have two hands. I told him I was going to contact the corporate office. He went into a big spill about how this is a free country that I can do what I wanted. I told him I am going to record you treating me this way to play for his boss. He then changed his attitude very quickly.
He said my cards fixed but I don’t really want to go back. I have been going there for 8 years and never had such problems like this. I can’t get anyone to return my calls through the website.
PS … all was good except for one thing….the air conditioning condensation was dripping on our table. That was gross. Please fix.

Back after 13-months due to pandemic. Awesome, wonderful meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. So good to be back!
