We are out-of-towners, and we really enjoyed Randy’s. The prices are fair, they have plenty of seating and the food was good, but I will come back because the customer service was top notch! Our waitress was super nice and welcoming. We never had to ask for refills because she met those needs before we had to ask. They have a weekend breakfast buffet that we are coming to try tomorrow. I will update my review.

I was just in here this evening for the first time. Tonight’s seafood buffet night and it’s well worth it! I recommend the Mac’n Cheese, Fried Smelt and the Frog Legs are huge! There’s self serve tarter & shrimp sauce… and lemons! Our server “Sierra S.” was absolutely phenomenal!! She was movin… clearing plates, refilling drinks while cleaning off tables & being attentive!! I can’t wait to return on another night! I highly recommend this place and worth the stop if you’re hungry. There’s also a menu to choose from, if that’s your fancy. I just couldn’t fit in dessert. ️

This restaurant was as great as in the past! The employees were friendly and greeted us as soon as we went in. That is something of importance to keep the relationship between customers and employees on a positive note. The gravy was very good. I believe it is fresh or house-made and not from a can. Scrambled eggs were fluffy. The butter on the toast is pleasantly tasty. Melted butter is a great way to butter toast. We have been to other restaurants and they butter the toast but it doesn’t melt which means the toast is cold not hot or warm. All of our food was hot and delicious. Wide variety of menu items to choose from. Weekends are breakfast buffets and from experience, worth the money and worth the trip. So many items to choose from like meats, fruits, bread, waffles, or pancakes. $20 a person but so much to choose and worth the price, the wait, and the trip to try it out. Go hungry! I wish we had more like this restaurant downstate.

Awesome experience. Fast friendly staff and service. Lots to choose from. Excellent salad bar with many options. Food came out and was hot ( or cold ice cream). Busy place. I saw a lot of smiling faces and relaxed customers. Local hangout and also big with ALL ages. Will be back.

This is a nice restaurant with a hide buffet. We ordered from the menu. My husband loved his hot beef sandwich and mashed potatoes. I ordered the BLT sandwich. My BLT was just okay but I felt the bacon was stale and a bit hard. I won’t order the BLT again but I would come back to try something else.

If you are ever in Houghton Lake, you must stop at Randy’s Family Restaurant. They have a great dinner buffet, as well as able to order off the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Today I had their sausage gravy and biscuits deluxe. It was loaded with great tasting sausage gravy, and the biscuits were nice and light, and then it was topped with cheese, and two eggs any way you want cooked. I had the eggs sunny side up, and they were cooked perfectly! The staff is very nice and friendly as well. This is one of the better restaurants in Houghton Lake. Make a point to stop and enjoy some very good food!
