So the overall experience was wonderful. I had heard about this little place from my friend Nita Bobo. First of all it’s downtown the restored Asheboro, which really makes it a wonderful place to come on a nice evening which it is tonight.
I’m on a diet right now so that was not a whole lot I could order and stay on my diet but I found a “slap your mama fish dog” with two mahi-mahi breaded fillets on it with a nice homemade pico de gallo and herby dressing. It was really good and light like I needed it to be …
The young lady (Jasmine) that waited on me was perfectly attentive and really made the meal nicer. She was incredibly Pleasant and thoughtful.
This is not a gourmet restaurant but for a nice, clean – downtown enjoyable casual atmosphere – I highly recommend this place. I will be back.
One of the hardest things I have had to do was to eat just a bite or two of that blueberry swirl cheesecake. Which was heaven sent. But my diet wouldn’t let me eat much of it. So my wife will be happy when I bring it to her.
They really needs to be a rating something like a 4.6. But since there’s not – I definitely want to leave a positive recommendation for this place so therefore they get the five.
I guess they took an old-timey garage Bay and turned it into a restaurant with quaint designs building off the original business theme including the roll-up bay door and sports t-shirts..
All Things Considered I’m really glad I came here, and think you will be too.

The best thing about Flying Pig was our waiter – attentive, personable, fast + efficient. My daughter and I were both impressed with how he took care of our table while simultaneously looking after the three other tables seated in his section at the same time. Outstanding service. We ordered the Angry Okra (fried jalapeños-spicy and delicious) and a Half BBQ Chicken/Half Hawaiian pizza. Way more food than we could eat and we gladly took home leftovers to our family at home. The atmosphere was lively and fun and packed at 5pm on a Friday night. When we left a little after 6pm, the line was out the door.

Absolutely love this place! The pizza was perfectly cooked with a crispy crust and generous toppings, the sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and filling, and the salads were crisp and well-balanced. Everything tasted high-quality and made with care. The menu has something for everyone, whether you want comfort food or something lighter. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends and family!

It does have tasty pizza but I think that the cost for pizza was not worth it. I did enjoy the pizza, but was told it was a brick oven pizza to find out it is a wood fired pizza, which is quite different. The environment is good for game days, but I wouldn’t think it is good for families. Service was so so, did not enjoy the length I waited for my order (45 minutes) after ordering as I was told 20 minutes. And the girl who took my order at the door sat and sat, and did not look or inquire about my order. There was no seating for anyone who was not eating at restaurant for anyone waiting for their order.

If you’re in town and looking for a laid-back spot with great food and even better vibes, this little sports bar is a must. The cheesecake is legendary (seriously, save room for it), and the BBQ nachos are piled high and full of flavor—perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself.
It’s the kind of place where everyone feels welcome, the games are always on, and there’s usually something fun going on. Friendly staff, small-town charm, and food that keeps you coming back. This place really nails the fun, casual atmosphere that makes a local spot special. Highly recommend!

Had a dinner with my co-workers. It’s a Pig themed restaurant and having good vibes. I ordered “The Pig Bianca” pizza which was almost vegetarian pizza if you don’t add chicken toppings. We also ordered Chicken wings and Nachos. Pizza was good and so cheesy. Wings were also good in taste. Overall satisfied with taste of the food. Service was even better.

The Flying Pig in Asheboro, NC is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and full of local charm. The food is consistently amazing—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we tried was delicious, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home, which just adds to the overall experience. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual meal or meeting up with friends, The Flying Pig never disappoints. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

Wonderful people…very friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious! A member of our party had a food allergy and we had to find something that they could eat. The manager / owner came out to help us figure out what to pick. The chef came out to assist with picking food that avoided the allergy. Super friendly and helpful!

1) The absolute worst hours of any restaurant/bar in Asheboro.
2) Bar staff is not very friendly at all, and I have rarely ever felt welcome.
3) The bar seating is extremely cramped and limited. I always feel as though I’m sitting in the laps of the people beside me… if there’s any seats available.
4) The food is actually pretty alright.
The Flying Pig has been nothing but a disappointment since I moved to Asheboro in 2020.

The nachos and the pizza are pretty good here. The other sandwiches are ok but give a grocery store vibe and are served in plastic baskets. Next time I’ll stick with the pizza. The beer on tap is always good and servers are nice.
