I visited during their Mardi Gras celebration, and the entire experience was a 10/10. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of great energy, with a live band playing a mix of popular hits and Mardi Gras classics.

I tried the gumbo soup, fried catfish, beignets, bread pudding. Every dish was flavorful, comforting, and tasted like true Southern hospitality. The seasoning, texture, and balance in each plate made the meal enjoyable from start to finish.

The staff was welcoming, the hosts were warm, and the environment felt relaxed and family-friendly, with plenty of parking nearby. Shout-out to Mike, the owner, he genuinely takes care of everyone who comes in, both new and returning customers. If you’re looking for Southern comfort food, great energy, and genuine hospitality, Bourbon Street Creole Kitchen & Bar is absolutely worth visiting.

I love this place. The food here is amazing and the drinks are really crafty, you’ll definitely find something that suits your liking, just tell him your base alcohol and they’ll concoct something for you. The Shrimp and grits is one of the best I’ve had. The Rockefeller oysters were good, however it doesn’t come on the shell (if someone is picky about that), but I really enjoyed it with the garlic bread. They play live music as well, which was a nice touch to our casual dinner in the lounge. All the servers and bartenders were really attentive and our water glass was always full.

Great food! Loved the shrimp and grits. The seafood cakes were yummy and my son said the pork belly po boy was fantastic. They even had live music.

i usually don’t leave google reviews, but after my meal here today i felt like i had to, it was that good. as a native washingtonian, i’d never experienced this cuisine before! the waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu to me and helping to narrow down what i wanted. i got the gumbo with cajun shrimp added, and i was thoroughly impressed!!! not only was the gumbo very flavorful, but the shrimp were a good size and cooked perfectly. they kindly gave me beignets on the house to end my meal, and those were great as well! super light and airy. not only was the food amazing, but the staffs hospitality was so refreshing, and you can tell the kitchen enjoys what they do. this was such a great introduction to this culture and cuisine, and i will definitely be coming back!! thank you so much bourbon street

I do not leave reviews. But this time I must. The atmosphere was average. We had eight people in our party. The place was not busy on a Sunday night. The waitress did a very poor job. She made a discussing breath sound while waiting on the birthday couple to order a drink and left. We had to flag her down a couple of times. We had to ask for the kids menu twice. The kids meal should have been delivered first, it was last. The food was fair. The pricing was not worth the experience we received. I will not return.

I went here on a date with the lady on a Friday night. Got there an hour before closing and were treated as if we just came in at opening time. Friendly and courteous and attentive staff all around. Hush puppies were so tasty and didn’t even need any peppers or aioli. My shrimp and grits were PERFECT the grit’s consistency was PERFECT. My lady’s jambalaya was seasoned with love and impeccable effort. Price was NOT BAD for 2 entrees 2 drinks and one appetizer. It started a great date night for us and can’t wait to come eat again.

Overall Good food, good presentation, good service, and good ambiance; I would have no objections in returning here although a little too much on the pricey side.

Having been in Louisiana several times (and as someone that lived in the south for many years), the spice and flavor there are a few notches more intense than here.

The grits by themselves were a little too bland.

Had lunch with a friend and decided to sit outside since the weather was nice. Inside, the restaurant has a welcoming and cozy ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a great meal.

The food was outstanding—I had the shrimp and grits, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My friend ordered the blackened chicken, and every bite was packed with great taste. Both dishes were absolutely delicious.
The service was excellent as well attentive, friendly, and efficient. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

This was one of my worst dining experiences. I love cajun/creole and have eaten alot of it. Was so excited to come here.

Summary: food tasted off or wasn’t made traditional. Small portions of appetizers.
Extremely rude server.
Gumbo had an odd sour flavor.
Etouffee had very little crawfish, also bitter taste and made with tomato sauce not roux. Unbalanced.
I didn’t want to eat either dishes which is rare.

We waited at the host area for about 15+ minutes without being acknowledged. Party after us asked if anyone spoke to us even.
Tons of seating empty.
Warm inside no AC just poorly fans. Outside which had a breeze but no shading could have been an option but the tables were left with all the previous clients plates etc not cleared off.

Ordered Seafood cakes which is apparently shrimp and fish. You couldn’t taste any seafood. Mushy. Plain. Why oh why would you add sweet chili sauce to the cajun aoli sauce? Weird flavoring. Three very small cakes for $17

BBQ shrimp. 5 of them. Was told they were big. But these were pretty medium/average sized. And at $19 way over priced. In fact.. was charged $19 but the menu said $17. Sauce had a great flavor. Shrimp were overcooked. Asked to have the three remaining shrimp re-cooked and they did do that and those were good. Re-did the whole meal and I got 5 shrimp and new bread.

Server rarely came to ask how our meal was. I had to flag him down. Not friendly.

Table was so so tiny that the plates did not fit on the table and when I was putting my food to go i had to put it on the floor. Why bother with tiny tables when you have giant presentation bowls for food. Doesn’t make sense and made for very uncomfortable dining.

Gumbo- which i didn’t realize was also an entree larger option. The roux was lighter not dark like traditional. Sour strange taste to it. Friend chicken was just okay tasting. Didnt want to eat anymore. $28

Etouffe- why are there mussels with this? I asked for extra crawfish instead. Not sure if that even happened. Needed some shrimp in there. Small portion of crawfish. Bitter and very tomato based. Which is usually not traditional style. I could make this at home with a can of tomato paste. No roux.

When I asked about some details on the bill (why menu prices were different from bill along with thinking husband ordered the gumbo appetizer but apparently was the fried chicken one. Which is an odd mix) server got angry/mocking. I explained we waited an hour for food, and a while to be seated, and a while for the bill. With food that was subpar. He then told me to just leave.

After poor food ,long wait and bad service I will never recommend this place. What a disappointment.

We loved it. I had the catfish special with dirty rice and a crawfish cream sauce. My wife had the fried catfish. The food tasted as we hoped. My wife is from Louisiana and I lived in Texas for over 10 years. So we know what its supposed to taste like. They even had Abita root beer. We do not drink alcohol. Ambience and service was great.
