The restaurant is small but really cute and gives retro diner vibes. It was clean, aesthetically pleasing, and seating included tables, and booths.
We ordered a variety of items including the most delicious biscuits ever, they were as soft as a cloud and the butters/jams paired perfectly with them! We also tried redfish & risotto, grilled salmon, fried chicken, and oysters. All were really flavorful!
The only complaint is that they did not bring all of the food out at the same time. As we continued to wait for the remainder of the items, the food that we did receive was getting cold.
Overall it was a really good experience!
I recommend and will visit again soon!!
Everything a little saltier than would be our preference. But tolerable. Barely. Why so much salt in everything? Anyway…
But definitely SKIP the peach crumble. Brutally salty.
First time here and truly disappointing. Ms. Whitney was a wonderful waitress.
I’m going to assume that the lack of seasoning is to appease a certain audience but I’ll leave that where it’s at.
1/20/25- I came back and now I’m trying to red fish with a Pontchartrain sauce. Everything was still delicious. The dirty rice was a little mushy but that’s nothing really to complain about.
Informed that they make everything in house and there were signs in my bites as I ate that it might be true
I should have tried the chicken being how our server told us it was the gem.
I chose a shrimp Po Boy with a cup of gumbo and a side of red beans and rice along with Not my Mommas biscuits THESE ARE A MUST TRY it came with a seasonal jam which it’s name escapes me ( not sure what they put in it but just the sheer weight , yes “Weight” tells you it’s going to be different
I loved my beans and used a biscuit to add to it
My Po Boy was great , it came with a cocktail sauce that looked unassuming but cleared my sinuses because I thought it was just a basic sauce I was wrong and it was delicious
My friend ordered the chicken wings ( but was to greedy to give me any but he enjoyed them )
His fish fish was crispy and well seasoned and his greens were nice
Now the only dish I didn’t entirely care was my gumbo ( I love gumbo and had hopes ) I guess I’m just not to keen on a dark rue and to me made it over baring taking away from the shrimp and sausage, other than that , I’ll be back for that chicken
