Furnace “on the fritz” during the coldest deep freeze of the winter. The dinning room was very uncomfortable. Also made the food served to us barely warm when placed in front of us and cool down very quickly. The gumbo was good; not great as it was surprisingly lacking in any seasoning besides salt. The expected slight “kick” was not present, and it was a bit thick in texture. The crispy chicken was overcooked. The asparagus was perfectly cooked but had no seasoning at all that I could determine. The jambalaya was pretty good, but lacked that “bam!”. The cornbread and scones served in the little bread basket were amazing– moist, flavorful. The mojito was watered down and the blended wine was, well, weird. The sticky toffee pudding was stellar, even though it lacked form — it was delicious crumbs rather than a formed dome/piece. Glad i finally checked this place out but probably won’t be back. A bit overpriced.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere! I’m not sure why I slept on this place so long. I had the maple Manhattan which paired well with my leg and belly dish my wife had one of the pairings and a bunch of delicious food as well. The poutine was amazing and the brisket on it was perfect! We will be back for sure

First time visitor to Dick and Jenny’s on Grand Island set in an old home for a cozy atmosphere. The ribs (half rack was plentiful) were recommended and delicious as well as the basil risotto whichvis a must try. The fried green tomatoes were interesting but would leave off the drizzle next time since I’m not a fan of horseradish. The daily Pasta Bolognese was flavorful. Dinners were served with a generous portion of cornbread. Enjoyed the house pinot grigio which went well with dinner. All dinners were generous portions and take home containers were required. Rick was a very knowledgeable and efficient server. If you opt for the dark choclate tart, ask for extra whipped cream since it is VERY rich and delicious. Enjoyed our time and we will return

Dick & Jenny’s is not a restaurant. It is a NATIONAL POWERHOUSE. Walking through the doors is like walking into Notre Dame Stadium on a crisp October Saturday — Marcus Freeman pacing the sidelines, the band playing the fight song, the deviled eggs already marching 75 yards down the field for a touchdown.
The tasting menu? Pure domination. The deviled eggs were a freshman phenom, impossible to defend. The tomato basil soup and gumbo soup were a one-two punch, like Audric Estimé lowering the boom on third and short. Then the salmon came out wearing a golden helmet, shining so bright I swear Touchdown Jesus winked at me.
Yes, Notre Dame lost to Miami this year. It hurt. It stung. Like when you drop your fork right before the gumbo. But Marcus Freeman’s squad will bounce back, and so will I, fork in hand, because Dick & Jenny’s refuses to lose two drives in a row. This is resilience. This is culture. This is five stars on Yelp and an undefeated season in my stomach.
To not eat here is to root against Notre Dame. To not eat here is to be Miami. And let me tell you: nobody wants to be Miami.
Playoffs? Playoffs are happening right now, on my plate.

Best place on Grand Island and a WNY hidden gem. Everything on the menu is outstanding, especially the crab cakes with fried green tomatoes, the gumbo, the chicken and tib combo, and of course the desserts! Jenny and the wait staff are kind and attentive. Can’t wait to go back.

We are visiting Niagara Falls from Cleveland Ohio. We weren’t sold on anything in Niagara to eat so decided to Google restaurants in Grand Island. SO GLAD WE DID! We came across Dick and Jenny’s and saw the amazing reviews and their interesting, out of the norm menu and decided to make a reservation. Everyone was friendly from our waitress to our 2 different servers and even the owner! Ordered the Squad Platter that was absolutely amazing! Also shared a cup of the gumbo before our entrees were served to us. We both ordered the Iron Skillet Scallops and Wood Fired Shrimp and we were both blown away! Topped it off with a shared dessert of a brownie with homemade strawberry ice cream and strawberry sauce with hot fudge drizzled over. Absolute 5 star experience from the service to the food! Definitely recommended!

Some of the best food I’ve ever had anywhere — and I travel the United States for a living. Also the best Gluten Free meal I’ve ever had in my life, hands down. They even have an entirely separate Gluten Free menu if you ask for it!! Had some excellent shrimp and scallops, and their shrimp and grits was just fantastic!
This place came highly recommended to me by someone who grew up on Grand Island. They heard I was visiting Buffalo and said it would be worth the 20-minute ride. And hey, they were absolutely right. Absolute hidden gem status right here! You will be seeing me on every one of my annual trips to Buffalo from here until the time I die. Thanks so much for a great experience!

A fantastic dinner and a pleasant surprise. This is a gem we feel lucky to have stumbled upon. One of the best meals we’ve had in recent memory. The sazerac cocktail was well made and wonderfully balanced. The food was exceptional; I’ll be thinking about the jambalaya until we return! Even having been to NOLA many times it blew me away. Can’t wait to return and try more items, but it will be hard to not repeat our orders they were all so great.

Great Louisiana style menu. The food we had was tasty. The service was great. The noise level though was very loud but it was the week before Christmas. We would definitely go back because the food is memorable.
