For generations, we’ve been part of Arizona’s story, and we’re proud as punch to keep it goin’ today. We’re servin’ up prime rib, fresh-cut steaks, homestyle cookin’, and a mess o’ seafood. Come on in, pull up a chair, and let us treat you like family.
Hopping retro venue for select steaks, homemade rolls & dessert located on Route 66.

This was honestly one of the best dinner experiences I’ve had in recent memory. My grandmother and my Dad dined here in 1957 when they moved west on Route 66 from Chicago to California. My Dad brought me here in 1987 when we traveled the Mother Road.
Dining here in 2026 was an amazing experiment all on its own. The atmosphere is full of vintage references and a dining experience seemingly lost to the weary traveler. The decor was as inviting as the service and hospitality. When I mentioned our own history with Rod’s, I was taken to the kitchen, introduced to the chef and shown the grill that has grilled steaks since the restaurant opened in 1946.
The food was delicious. The high quality cut of steak was cooked to perfection. There was no fancy culinary presentation, or over the top artisan showboating. There was simply a New York Strip Steak and loaded baked potato on the same plates that Rod’s Steakhouse has been using since the doors opened. An old fashioned steak house where a special meal can still be had for a fair price and an experience that will be remembered for a long time.
Kudos to the new owners for keeping the traditions alive and not just living off of a legendary name, instead they brought back the past in the best way possible and have made Williams Arizona proud.
Great job Rod’s! You did it right. Thank you!

My best friend since second grade and I were excited to visit Rod’s Steakhouse after its reopening. We both grew up in Williams and have nostalgic memories here, so meeting up in our hometown for dinner is always extra special.
The Parker House rolls are still a star — served warm with cinnamon honey butter, they felt like dessert before dinner. We devoured them so quickly we forgot to take a picture!
Neither of us eat steak any more, and we weren’t expecting a huge vegetarian selection (it is a steakhouse, after all), but we were happy with the options they offered. We ordered Brussels sprouts, onion rings, zucchini and side salads (I had the garlic dressing, she had the blue cheese — both tasty). Everything was fresh and flavorful and we left satisfied.
Our server Chris was wonderful — attentive, kind and happy to answer all our questions. The remodel is nicely done; the space feels clean and fresh while still holding on to some of the charm we remembered from back in the day, now with a more modern touch. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with smiles, which made the experience even better.
We’d heard mixed reviews, but our evening was nothing but positive. We had a great time, enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back — next time with friends and family!

Highly recommend This restaurant was amazing. We drove to Williams in October from Phoenix to celebrate a birthday and wanted to try a steak house. I called to find out about a menu item and ask about the oils they cook with because we had someone with a peanut allergy. Never have we ever experienced a restraunt who everyone was knowledgeable about their menu items or how things are prepared or cooked. Everyone from nice girl who answered the phone, to actually talking to the chef to make sure no peanut or nuts were used in the kitchen. We talked to chef Micheal over the phone without hesitation he went through how various foods are cook and of there was a dish in particular that person wanted to eat. We told him and he explained the process and that it was safe and when we come in ask for him if needed. So we had dinner that night there at Rods. All the food was amazing from the appetizers to dessert everything was delicious and our server was amazing. His name was Axel. We told him about the allergy he made sure to note it and was very nice and everything he suggested was delicious. It was so good i forgot to take pictures Honestly Everyone was nice even the food runners were asking if we needed anything. Kids had burgers, chicken strips and corn dogs the kids loved their ranch. We had various steaks along with bison burger and fried steak. I ordered a steak Axel suggested it was delicious flavorful and tender along with mashed potatoes and their Brussels sprouts were delicious. We are definitely coming back to rods not only for the food but our experience and the staff was amazing. Definitely worth the price.

Overpriced for what you get, but prices are comparable to the local area being tourism dependent. Most of our food came out like warm. The onion rings are suppose to be made in house but came out cold and no flavor. The fried chicken dinner had 4 pieces but the 3rd and 4th piece were chicken wing size and not normal fried chicken sized. The chicken fried steak was soggy on one side. The soup and salad was good and the ranch dressing tasted homemade. They need a new recipe for the rolls. The cinnamon butter was tasty but rolls had a strange taste that did not pair well with the butter.

Our visit started off poorly because of a really poorly placed entrance sign. The sign is a giant bright illuminated neon sign that says ENTRANCE. It was the entrance to the speak easy not the restaurant. We walked through the entire place only to be greeted by a very rude waitress who said “go over there!” The next 4 parties of people after us experienced the same treatment. There was no indication whatsoever where the front door was.
The waitstaff was slow. The place was busy but not swamped, it was a Saturday night so you would assume they would be prepared and used to a busy night but they seemed overwhelmed.
The atmosphere seemed perfect for an old small town steakhouse so we had pretty high expectations. The food was expensive, $48 for a NY Strip. It’s a steakhouse though so we assumed it would be worth it. It wasn’t. The steak was well seasoned and cooked correctly but it wasnt a great steak. It wasn’t bad but it was nothing special, I have honestly had way better steak at Outback and Texas Roadhouse. The only saving grace was they gave my wife a free skillet cookie for her birthday and the cookie was a 10 out of 10.
Low expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The customer service was just as great, and our waitress Bridget truly stood out. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome the entire time. Bridget went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

We were excited to go to Rods after it reopened. A huge let down. Ordered my Filet medium plus, came out medium rare. Paige ordered a Ribeye that was flat and thin ie a flatiron steak. The toppings that they charge 5 bucks for were ridiculous. Blue cheese crumbles not melted, just tossed on and a peppercorn sauce that was like au jus, not good. Cold Baked potatoes? Bread was doughy and not fully cooked and lukewarm. 160 bucks for that a Beer and a glass of wine? Hint, go to Red Raven for better food, service and level of professionalism.

The food had good flavor. 3 of us ordered ribeye steaks, 1. With fried Brussels sprouts, 1. With mushrooms and 1 with onions and cowboy candy. All were good. Our other plate was filet that looked like a strip steak. And it was missing all the added extras. Our server tried, but it just took so long to get the peppers & onions, cowboy candy and the mushrooms never came. Chris did offer a complimentary dessert and discounted our bill. All honesty, it was a good meal.

A historic and preserved steakhouse just reopened in downtown williams. , Steaks are cooked on the original charcoal grill, By a very experienced staff. Atmosphere is really cool, The entire staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing.
Try the ribs. They may be the best ribs I’ve ever had – slow cooked, then finished on the grill. I’ve had the prime rib dip sandwich in the Ribeye, and they are all amazing.
The Grand opening was only a few days ago , and i’ve already been back twice.

Amazing experience. Everything in Williams is walking distance. Service was great. Very friendly staff and love what they do. Great ambiance and environment. The food was great. I got the house salad, 16oz prime Rib, grilled shrimp skewers and baked potato. The bread at beginning was so amazing. Fresh made and the cinnamon butter is over the top. The menu is diverse enough for choices, but every item i saw other patrons get just looked delicious. Definitely will be back and i will save room for the blueberry cheesecake next time. 10/10 recommend. I made my reservation as soon as I got in town. But I’d imagine on a holiday weekend may need a little more time to reserve.
