De Oro La Puerta is one of those spots you’re glad you found. The food is fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Everything we tried was well seasoned and beautifully presented, and you can tell quality matters here.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Service was smooth and timely without feeling rushed.

If you’re looking for a place with great food, good energy, and consistent quality, De Oro La Puerta is definitely worth a visit. We’ll be coming back to try more from the menu.

5-star experience! The 3 taco plate with chorizo, lengua, and asada was absolute perfection. Homemade tortillas, flavorful rice, and beans… it was all so delicious! I cleaned my plate without feeling stuffed. Bonus points for the beautiful floral decor and spotless bathroom. Highly recommend!

First time eating here & it was a nice experience. My daughter had recently ate here & I told her I wanted real Mexican food 🙂 We were all satisfied with our plates. Workers sang Happy Birthday & brought a flan for my Dad’s birthday per my Fiancé’s request. Reasonable food prices.

Fancy looking resturant but their breakfast chorizo burritos suck. Practically 20$ for a small burrito that looks something from del taco’s menu Also the ingridients was also not good. The beans tasted like if it came from a can and the chorizo and eggs was bland. The green salsa was good though.

Great service. You are greeted as soon as you walk in. The service is great – very attentive. It’s cozy and family friendly. Big portions. The sangria is fantastic. Will come again.

The best Mexican food we’ve found in the area. I’m from San Antonio and my wife is from East L.A. So, no strangers to authentic Mexican food.

We have lived in the Diamond Bar/Walnut area for 40-years. We’ve eaten at De Oro many times, tried many different menu items, and we have never been disappointed.

I realize people have different tastes in food, different expectations, and different experiences when dining out. I feel bad for the folks who had a disappointing experience at De Oro.

The staff is always friendly towards us and if they are busy and running slow, they apologize to us and bring us more tortilla chips.

We know if there are a lot of customers or if they have a lot of to-go orders, it’s going to take more time than usual. We are old and retired, but not everyone has the time or patience to wait and they leave a negative review.

We have tried many Mexican restaurants in the area. I won’t mention the ones we didn’t like because, it’s a matter of personal taste.

Xavi’s in Chino Hills was my favorite, but I haven’t eaten there since before the pandemic. I expect they are still great. Pepe’s in Hacienda Heights, The Durango in Brea (they didn’t survive the 2020 shut down), the big Juancho’s restaurant in Ontario (I don’t know if they are still there), the small Juancho’s cafe in Chino Hills is good for a quick take-out (they used to be better before Covid and they had to remove the “help yourself” bean pot), The Whole Enchilada in Diamond Bar before the demographics changed causing them to shut down, and Kalaveras. I can’t be sure if it’s the food I like or the atmosphere. I always have fun no matter which one I eat at, but I particularly like the small hole-in-the-wall one in Montebello.

If anyone knows a better place in the area for Mexican food, I’d like to know.

It was my first time there. I had the carnitas plate. It was tender and taste pretty good. The wet burrito was good also. The decor was beautiful during the Christmas holiday season. The staff was very helpful and courteous. I will return.

2nd visit. So much to choose from here. Fresh made tortillas. Carne asada, Pollo, carnitas, shrimp, bbq Mexican beef, al pastor stuffed tacos. Flavor and tender meat. Came for breakfast a few weeks ago. Amazing breakfast burritos! Staff is attentive and friendly! Highly recommended and will be back a lot. I forgot pics for this visit but here are the pics from breakfast.

I moved up to Washington state 3 years ago, and I still dream of the food here at my old local spot. The people are amazing and the food fueled my entire pregnancy and years after. Their green salsa (you have to ask for it) is something I haven’t tasted before or since and it’s just the best thing ever. The food is all outstanding, I’ve never had a meal here that’s been anything less than amazing. We simply don’t have Mexican food this good up north, and I miss this this place dearly. If you get a chance, go!
