I got the chicken parm, my son got the margarita pizza, and my wife got the Sorrento-style gnocchi. The food was really good. I could argue the pizza had too much flop and maybe could have been baked for about 3-4 more minutes but the food was good. The old fashioned …not so good..wouldn’t recommend that that..BUT the food was on point.
We ordered a Neapolitan-style pizza, which was very tasty—one of the better ones we’ve had since being in Italy—though it could have used a bit more time in the oven. Still, overall very good. We also ordered the carbonara, bucatini all’Amatriciana, and the polpetti. All of the dishes had great flavor, but unfortunately they arrived at the table cold, which took away from the experience.
As far as the food and atmosphere go, this place has a lot of potential. The main reason for the 3-star rating was the service. It was extremely slow, and our server was inattentive—rarely checking in, not asking if we needed additional drinks, and not following up on how our meals were. Aside from the gentleman who greeted us at the door, no one we interacted with was particularly friendly or personable.
With so many excellent options in Boston, I’m not sure this is a place I’d be eager to return to. Sometimes great food isn’t enough—poor service can be a dealbreaker.
We ordered the Eggplant parm and pizza , another funghi pizza. Also for the table we had a lasaña and rice balls that had the saffron taste which were great.
Would be a better experience probably with a better Italian music.
I’ll be back for that pizza fresh bread though. 🙂
Also try the cocktails and wine collection. Reasonable price and great quality.
Good:
– The casarecce was so good! I liked the meatballs and the pasta shells themselves were very chewy and tasty
– The tiramisu was really good – not too sweet either
– The risotto and lamb lollipops was surprisingly good! I did not like the taste of the lamb, but the risotto was some of the best I’ve ever had!
– Super nice server!
Bad:
– The food is a bit on the more pricey end, but not too bad!
– Very dim inside and it’s a bit gloomy
Overall this was a great pre-race fuel and glad we came!
Really quick service and yummy food! The gnocchi was some of the best I have ever had – it was tender without being mushy and the sauce was nice and flavorful!
