I don’t always get much one-on-one time with my daughters. Being separated and not seeing my kids all the time, you really appreciate times like this. Just you and one of your daughters, eating slowly, joking around, sharing dessert. That’s the stuff I hang onto. Food’s just the excuse. The real meal is the time you get to share it with someone who matters.

Should you check this place out?
Yeah.

Cabrera’s in Arcadia feels like one of those places where time slows down just enough for you to notice it. The staff greets you like they actually mean it, not because they’re trained to. The lighting’s warm, the booths feel lived in, and there’s always someone laughing somewhere — usually a family celebrating something small but important.

I got the carne asada tacos a la carte. Simple, juicy, that perfect grilled edge that makes you want another bite even when you’re full. She went with the cheese enchiladas, rich, melty, and exactly the kind of comfort food that makes you exhale a little deeper after the first bite. We finished with flan, smooth and caramel-sweet, the kind of dessert that makes silence between bites feel full rather than awkward.

Good for Dates?
I’m mixed on this one. If it’s a first date or a “getting to know you” vibe, maybe not. It’s more for family, close friends, or someone you’ve already built something with. The kind of place where you can relax, eat something good, and just chill. The servers check in just enough to remind you they care, but don’t interrupt when things are flowing. So if you just want to unwind, split flan, and talk about life. Cabrera’s is a solid move.

Final Verdict
Yes, check this place out. But not just for the food, for the moments that happen while you’re eating it.

The salsa with chips was good, and the waitress was respectful,

however: the food was not good and that’s coming from someone thats not picky. I’ll usually eat the food even if its meh. But I couldn’t eat the flautas I ordered, they tried to do something new, different yet risky, and I get it, I applaud it. I was the one that took a risk ordering it as well lol but it wasn’t good.

When a big party came we struggled to get soda refills and our check. I don’t blame the waitress at all, management could do a bit of a better job. I paid $100 for food I didn’t enjoy for a family of 3. Too much to be honest.

Music was a little too loud.

I won’t be coming back, and I leave positive reviews for places that deserve it. But in this case it didn’t, and I rather be honest so that businesses can have good feedback so they can be better.

I would never call myself a massive fan of Mexican food… only because most of the time it does not agree with me, but if I was to ever make a Mexican restaurant a regular go to this one would be it.
Not only is the food really good… but the staff are second to none.
They are easily the friendliest staff ever, very attentive, never leaves you waiting on anything.
The Margaritas are also excellent.

I wish they had more of a beer selection, but I know it’s a Mexican restaurant and they mostly supply Mexican but I wish they took in some microbreweries just to mix it up a little.

Great spot, well worth a visit.

Again… great staff

Delicious home style Mexican food. This place has remained open for decades for a good reason. Their menu offerings are absolutely delicious and you really can’t go wrong ordering whatever strikes your craving. I am partial to the cocido, as the portions of beef are generous and the amount of veggies is just perfect. The broth had a real “abuelita’s” recipe taste which is a testament to the authentic recipes that this place has. Also their guacamole is highly recommended. If you’re feeling like a little seafood then I suggest trying their Mojarra estilo Cabrera. Visit this place and see for yourself!

The food was good, but nothing that we would brag about. The waitress was very informative, kind professional and polite. In a pinch, this is a good place to visit.

We found this place while visiting City of Hope and it’s become our go-to for a yummy meal after my weekly clinic visits. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and it’s conveniently located just a few minutes from the hospital.

I’ve enjoyed the carnitas michoacan, tacos a la Mexicana (steak), quesadilla (steak), guacamole, hard tacos, enchiladas and taquitos. The chips and salsa are really good too!

My aunt ordered take out and brought it to me at the hospital when I was having an 8 hour infusion appt and everything was delicious. We both commented that it tasted even be better than when we eat in the restaurant! (I was starved all day for the medical procedure so I may have just been really hungry but damn, it was so good!)

I would recommend visiting Cabrera’s if you want a delicious Mexican meal!

What a lovely place! The staff were so friendly too! It was fun to see how they interact with each other at the open galley kitchen where they pickup orders. I asked for a special item and the server didn’t hesitate for a second to accept my accommodation. I got to try a vegetarian mole enchilada! What a treat!!

First time here and was not disappointed. Found this place because of the ads on Instagram and the food looked good so figured we try it out. We arrived right before the dinner rush but this place became packed. Servers were very attentive and took our order minutes after being seated. Food came out fairly quick and was super hot and looked good on the plate. I ordered the Champion burrito with pork and Chile Relleno and my wife ordered the fish tacos. The burrito was so big I could only eat half. My wife liked the fish tacos with the exception of the flour tortillas instead of corn. Overall food and experience was very good. Will definitely be back.

My Mexican friend’s favorite Mexican restaurant. We just got a chance to try out this restaurant. They have two branches I am aware of, one in Duarte and the other one is in ARCADIA. But I heard they have two other locations in Pasadena and Irwindale as well.

We dined in the Duarte one today for lunch. The restaurant provided outdoor dining with social distancing and disinfection measures. All waiters and waitresses wear masks and face shields.

Foods are fantastic here. Personally I feel they have better Mexican foods then El Torito. My burrito came with great taste and a lot of fried beans and rice. My wife’s fajita was delicious with sizzling beef and veggies on the hot cast iron plate. The chips were a bit different than what I used to in other Mexican restaurants as it is quite thick. We ordered ice teas to cool ourselves down. Overall it was good food and a pleasant dining environment with good service.

I walked in to find several tables of construction workers with sizable plates in front of them with food that looked and smelled delicious. Not to mention the ice cold Mexican glass bottle cokes.
I ordered the camarones al mojo de ajo, and it was delicious! However, it tasted even better. Tool my husband a couple of days later. Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures. He ordered the enchiladas suizas the pollo, and I got the asada with mojo de ajo shrimp. Again, it was all delicious.
