City Star Family Diner was everything I expected and then some. Coffee stayed flowing — never hit the bottom of the cup once. I ordered the double biscuits and gravy (’cause ya boy a lil on the thick side), and man… those thangs were bussin’. Cleaned the whole plate, didn’t even need a to-go box, and had zero room left for dessert.
Bathrooms were okay — nothing crazy, but they did the job.
Love this spot. Cozy, delicious, and hits every time. I’ll definitely be back ASAP.

Hit or miss on take-out. Your portion on the gravy is a joke. A 1/3 to half cup of Gravy.. Not a full cup (have Pics). Forgot to put Hash Browns in my order. They need to DOUBLE check the orders. Chick Fil a does not forget your food… The waffle house does not forget your food. Try to give local business a chance and you get this… But their Biscuits and grave are the best…

Nice place with some southern flare. Save your appetite – the portions are not small. Hubby and I stopped here for a bite and ordered cheeseburgers.
Hubby had the Cowboy Burger and I had the Rodeo Burger. Probably cooked to order, since it took awhile to get the food, but the wait was worth it. Delicious, juicy burgers and hot n crunchy fries
Staff was friendly and funny, posing for a picture. Laura, our waitress, was attentive and checked in on us couple times.

My honey and I just moved to the area and found this little gem. Tasty food at a reasonable price ($13 for 2 eggs, 2 sausage, home fries, toast AND coffee), highly recommend! Mikayla always gives great service. We will be back.

I was expecting the food to be okay, but it was actually terrific! I got the BBQ burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The pork chop was huge and nicely fried to a crisp. The taco salad was also a nice portion and the tortilla was crispy. I would come back here and eat again for sure.

Very dingy place. Ordered western Benedict and the Canadian bacon was odd tasting and the sauce was tasteless. I told the waitress that I didn’t like the dish and she asked if I wanted something else, but never came back, took care of other tables… almost 10 min later she asked I want a menu. I didn’t want anything else. Never received an apology for the problems.
The Texas French toast was regular bread, not thick Texas style.

Looks can be deceiving. Outside looks *rough* including the entry doors. Definitely, old school NJ diner vibes in a rough neighborhood.
Once inside, the staff and food are amazing! Best open faced turkey I have had in 10+ years. Brother had reef + beef and still raves about it.
All 7 of us were well taken care of …. And found a bonus by the bathrooms. (See pictures)
Bad news though –
Place is weirdly sticky. Could use a REALLY good deep clean up. Even simple things like wiping down the s+p shakers daily.

I have been there 6 times. Every time was great except the time my wife and I went for breakfast. Took forever to get waited on and food served. Had it been my first time, I may have not come back. I would chalk it up to being busy, but some of the other times I was there the place was packed and I was waited on and served in a timely manner. Food and pricing are good. Staff is friendly and attentive. I like the blue plate type menu. I’ll give breakfast another try soon. A good and affordable fast food alternative.
