I’ve been hearing great things about Tamashaa and finally had the opportunity to try it this week. It’s a beautiful and vibrant restaurant that immediately catches your attention when you walk in.
The food was incredible! For appetizers, we ordered the Eggplant Fritters, Tandoori Gyoza, and Pinwheel Samosa — all beautifully presented and full of flavor. For the tandoori course, we had the Chicken Tikka, which was excellent, and for entrées, we enjoyed the Lamb Biryani and Butter Chicken. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.
The menu is extensive, creative, and thoughtfully put together. The chef even came out to check on our meal, which was a very nice touch.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience — I’ll definitely be back!

Tamashaa stands out as a premier Indian fine dining establishment situated in the heart of DC.
For parking, street options are available, and should those be full, several private parking lots are conveniently located nearby.
The staff consistently demonstrates a high level of courtesy, helpfulness, and friendliness.
The ambiance is truly exceptional, earning a perfect 5/5 rating, and features a distinctive Indian aesthetic.
Regarding beverages, they offer an impressive selection of cocktails. The cocktail menu itself is particularly noteworthy for its creative presentation and the evident thought invested in its design. The Chaat Margarita is a personal favorite.
The food menu provides a wide array of choices, with both small and large plates designed to cater to diverse palates. Among the small plates, the vadapav sliders, panipuri shots, and crispy okra with potato salad are highly recommended. From the main course selections, the butter chicken, chicken tikka, amo paneer tikka, and black dal were all commendable, with the black dal being a personal highlight. The amul cheese naan is also a must-try from their bread offerings.
For dessert, both the gulab jamun and mango srikhand were beautifully presented and tasted outstanding, with the gulab jamun being a particular favorite.
In conclusion, I believe Tamashaa offers the finest authentic Indian fine dining experience in the city.

Great quality and very tasty food. The ambience and seating are excellent, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I accidentally selected the wrong reservation date, but the staff was kind enough to still offer us a table for a quick meal, which I really appreciated. It’s a family‑friendly restaurant with a great vibe, and overall a pleasant dining experience.
One thing to note: there is a 20% service charge automatically added to the bill, so keep that in mind when visiting.
I would definitely recommend Tamasha to anyone looking to try Indian food in the Washington DC area.

Tamasha in DC was creative and tasty. The burrata, bao appetizers, and crispy eggplant chips were flavorful and nicely presented. Stylish atmosphere and good service. A bit pricey for portions, but nice for a fun dinner with friends.

First time here, but loved the food. We ordered Ghevar chaat, vada pav slider and chicken tikka as starters and all of them were outstanding. The ghevar chaat was very unique and very flavorful. Chicken tikka and vada pav were also very tasty. Main course was butter chicken and achari jackfruit. Achari jackfruit was the best jackfruit in US. Overall very tasty food, great service and recommendations by Kuldeep. Prices are on tge expensive side, with 20% service charged for a party of 4. Good place to go for fine dining!

Absolutely fantastic food, and great service. I love taking pictures of good food (part of the reason being so I can load to Google maps, ha) and the waiter saw me doing this so he put dishes down in such a way so I could take more pictures. It’s the little things! As for big things, the food was fantastic, and we got an assortment of dishes. Only issue was the cocktail I had (julep), it had more rose in it than I prefer. The meal was decently pricy so something to keep in mind, but it was tasty. Worth a visit!

Wow! This restaurant elevates classic Indian dishes and flavors in the best way possible. Every plate we tried was perfection, and the mocktails were just as impressive. We can’t wait to return and try more. The service alone is reason enough to come back.

The food here was really good, and the boy who served us was also very polite. The ambience was beautiful too. But the worst part was the tax and especially the service charges. Okay, tax is understandable, but 20% service charges? Like seriously? We were just two people, and our bill came to $150. Nowhere else in the US have we seen such high service charges, and we eat out a lot. This was really disappointing. Please recheck this policy, because otherwise everything else about the restaurant was great. That’s the only reason I’m leaving this review.”

Visited Tamasha in Washington DC and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The space is vibrant and modern, and the plating on every dish looked like something out of a fine‑dining cookbook. We ordered the Achari Jackfruit, Ghevar Chaat, Pani Puri Shots, Kadhai Paneer, Laccha Paratha, Rosemary Naan, and the Vada Pao Slider, plus dessert. Each dish had bold, layered flavors and beautiful textures, with the Ghevar Chaat and Pani Puri Shots being the most memorable and photo‑worthy of the night.Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, Tamasha feels like a great place for a date night or special outing if you enjoy creative Indian cuisine with elevated presentation. Would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, flavorful dinner in DC.

This was my second visit to Tamasha, and once again, I was warmly welcomed by the staff. The ambiance is wonderful—stylish, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxed dining experience. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted great, clearly prepared with care and attention to detail.
The only small issue I experienced was that the gravy served was a little too cold. Apart from that, everything was absolutely beyond expectations. I truly enjoyed my time at Tamasha and look forward to visiting again soon!
